I saw the show...it's a very good and endearing show. The songs are beautiful and memorable, the book is good as well and the actors are all amazing. This production deserves the Tony.

Hopefully it will be back up and running tomorrow. I want to see it!

WOW! I finally saw this last Thursday and I was completely blown away!! IT is definitely my favorite musical ever. Incredible story and I loved how they meshed an old play with current music. I have always been a huge fan of Duncan Sheik and I think this is his best work ever. My friend and I were in tears as we left the show because we were so overcome by the whole production. Just amazing. The performers are all terrific. Loved the incredible blue lights. We met the writer of the show afterwards. HE was there with his very proud parents. I really hope it wins the Tony. There is nothing else I have seen this year that even comes close to Spring Awakening.
For those of you who are interested, the Drama Desk nominations are up on SA's IBDB page in the Awards & Nominations section, in case you want to see them in print. It's pretty exciting!

I saw Spring Awakening last night and, yes, it was quite a good show. My favorite ingredient was without a doubt the book and lyrics. incredibly succinct, intelligent and sensitive were the words spoken and sung by the cast, who showed great devotion and energy. John Gallagher, Jr. was particularly memorable and heartbreaking as Moritz. I haven't seen Legally Blonde (nor do I plan to) but, based on what I know about it, I think Spring Awakening is a great antidote to it (even the antithesis of it!). I hope it stays around for a long time.
I'm praying for a best musical award for this show. I was heartbroken last year when Drowsy didn't win it. I don't think I can take that heartbreak again.
ya i was also suprised as well with the lack of a lighting nomination, personally i thought that the lighting was one of the best parts of the experience. and i hope come tony time it does well i found it more thoughtful and entertaining then curtains and marry popppins, though i refuse to see LB.
and in response to the small troops rant acouple days ago, please keep your opinions to yourself and keep the thread on SA thanks

seeing it tonight for the first time!! f-ing pumped! I had a dream about them last night. After the show I met the whole cast and Jonathan said that he lived near me so we walked from the theatre to brooklyn heights talking about everything. it was a great dream Updated On: 5/6/07 at 11:28 AM
And I just picked up a ticket to the first SA performance following the Tony Awards. Hopefully it will be an atmosphere of celebration!
*fingers crossed*
