Is anyone doing Stage Door for Music Man? When I was there this past weekend, it appeared the Stage Door was painted clearly, thus iniviting people for Stage Door. Also, barricades were up as well. I didn't stay, since I thought no one was doing Stage Door with Covid. However, I am curious if I missed out. It would have been cool if Jackman was signing.

There are a few Hugh Jackman signed playbills for sale on Ebay. He could have signed a few in passing and not done a formal stage door.

Gonna assume Equity rules regarding stage dooring are still in place and the theatre was probably painted before everything reopened. If anything, I’ll bet the barricades are probably to give the cast (like Jackman) a safe path of egress

Please don’t stage door right now when the pandemic is still happening. That’s all I’m going to say.

In case anyone's wondering if Hugh Jackman is meeting fans at the stage door, this video shows him, masked, and posing for photos, but not signing Playbills.

From now on, in lieu of stage door, I plan to reach out to the company manager of a given show in advance and request a Playbill signed by 5-10 specific cast members plus my performance’s conductor. Preferably the CM would leave it at the box office / front of house so I can pick it up safely after the performance concludes.
I’m still good with speaking to conductors in person (masked, of course)… I’m typically the only one who does it right after a show, as everybody else scrambles for the exits. Makes me feel much safer than the average stage door experience - plus the conversations are longer and more intimate / personal.

Crowds are there, which can’t be stopped. Barricades are in place and actors are leaving the stage door just not interacting with the crowds. They’ll stop and talk and wave from a distance but no one is getting close enough to sign things, etc. So yes, stagedoor activity continues, just not the selfie posings and signing things.

Please don't ask the overworked and underpaid company managers to run around gathering up a dozen different signatures for you and then leave a Playbill at the box office -- they do not have the time, and it's not part of their job description.
Oh...and while you;'re at it, maybe also ask them if the house manager can task a designated usher to give you a post-performance foot massage?

Hahaha. No one is going to go out of their way and do this for you. With ALL the stuff they have to deal with on a daily basis, this request is hilarious. No one is going to put their job on hold, go to each individual to have a Playbill signed and then instruct a box office person (who already HAS daily job duties) about this Playbill. AND for free. Your request takes time AND discipline and focus. It’s not a little request. Geez. And who gives a f*** about your post-performance chats with conductors. Hahaha.

So you're saying maybe drop the request for the conductor of THAT SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE to sign?
LMAO.

HAHAHA. This was my favorite line that I thought was a joke:
"I plan to reach out to the company manager of a given show in advance and request a Playbill signed by 5-10 specific cast members plus my performance’s conductor."
I think Susie Myerson should give Jordan L a ring and tell him how showbiz actually works. Cuz JESUS.

If you scroll through the few comments underneath the video, you will see that the person who posted it said this was opening night. I'm not sure what Jackman does on that particular night is a fair indicator of what he might be doing for "regular" shows.

I was there last Saturday and it was the exact same. I've definitely seen clips from other days where it's also the same.

I was there on Thursday, and Hugh Jackman spent quite a bit of time at the stage door talking to fans and taking photos. He was lovely. He wouldn't sign anything or take any gifts due to covid, but he made sure to respond to questions, talk to fans etc. Sutton came out another door and briefly waved, but quickly jumped into her car.
