I hope Rachel or Ariana are asked to host SNL when the film comes out
The end of that excellent Time magazine interview with Ariana and Rachel has Rachel giving us an exciting little spoiler that shows what Tony Kushner is bringing to the script. Rachel says that Tony gave Lieutenant Schrank a monologue at the beginning in which he says that with the construction of Lincoln Center forcing all of them out of their homes, the Jets and Sharks have more in common than they realize:
====
ZEGLER: In the beginning, there’s a great monologue given by Corey Stoll, who plays Lieutenant Schrank, who talks about these people being kicked out of their homes to build the new Lincoln Center, and how they’re all wrong. They’re mad at the wrong people. They’re mad at each other because of their differences, and not understanding that they actually have a lot more in common. That’s a huge conversation we should be having right now: if we just focus for one second on the common problems we all have, rather than the common problems we have with each other, we could actually spark a lot of change.
I'm so incredibly excited to see what Spielberg/Kushner/Peck and the talented cast and crew are bringing to the table. How about you?

Check out this awesome featurette on the costuming of the new movie! It begins at the 10 minute mark.
Creativity with Paul Tazewell & Nina Cinelli
Thank you for sharing this. It was a fantastic watch. It runs almost 14 minutes and tons of BTS on the making of WEST SIDE STORY.
I agree that was a fantastic watch, and all those costume sketches and B-Roll footage of the musical numbers were amazing. Can't wait to see other behind the scenes stuff getting revealed in November.

I’ve been a fan of Tazwells work since In the Heights. I also seen his work doing A Raisin in the Sun, Memphis, The Wiz Live and Hamilton
“Oye, Javi! Ponle fuego! Vamos!”
Can’t stop saying this tonight.

Which in English it translates to: "Hey, Javi! Put fire on it! Let's go!". Which honestly is a great addition to begin the "Mambo" we all know and love.

On the new poster, Rachel gets an "and introducing" credit.

I hope they do individual posters too. One for Maria, one for Tony, one for Bernardo and one for Anita

They will. Almost every movie has character posters. I imagine we'll see Maria, Tony, Anita, Bernardo, Riff, and Valentina.
That sneak peek was pretty nice and the two new posters are great.

Rita Moreno's accent for Valentina sounds exactly like her Lydia accent on One Day at a Time

That’s her go to Latina/Cuban/Puerto Rican accent.

Not always! I couldn't find the one they did for Mary Poppins Returns! I only watched half live and I had to leave to go somewhere.

I remember when Mary Poppins Returns had something like it.
