This post didn’t age well. West Side Story was filmed with film not digitally.
Indeed, the actual film itself was shot on celluloid film but this person is referring to the promotional stills - those are indeed saturated digital photos. They could have at least emulated vintage film photos. It’s not hard to do in post, even with digital photos.
