Stuart Damon, who starred opposite Lesley Ann Warren in the 1965 television remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA, has died at 84.
He was best known for his soap opera roles, but on this board he’s still remembered as Cinderella’s Prince…son of Ginger Rogers and Walter Pidgeon (in the broadcast as they played the King and Queen).
RIP to Stuart Damon but I must admit I was worried you meant Robert Westenberg who is much younger!

Same!
Ditto!
Sad news to wake up to. He was wonderful as the Prince in Cinderella and in his long running role as Dr. Alan Quartemaine on “General Hospital”.
Rest in peace sweet prince.

Seriously maybe update the headline? I just screamed "NOT Robert Westenberg!!" and clutched my heart.
Would be nice to give the man his due and mention him in the title.
I really enjoy the cast albums he's heard on, including "Irma La Douce", the Off Broadway "Boys From Syracuse" and "Do I Hear a Waltz" where he isn't allowed to sing the lyric that Sondheim wanted for "We're Going to be All Right" (basically an early version of "You're Gonna Love Tomorrow") that Richard Rodgers found crude. On the 2001 Pasadena cast album, that lyric is restored, and was in the Encores production.
As a GH fan, I preferred the sometimes volatile drama and frequent comic relief of the Quartermaines over Luke and Laura back in the day. He had terrific chemistry with Leslie Charleson, and of course sister Tracy. "Guiding Light" had a similar family situation with Alan and Alexandra Spaulding. Very Edward Albee in nature when the writing was tops.
What's the point of nonspecific, alarmist subject lines like this?
