She felt flat to me. I love when she throws herself into a role but as an entertainer alone on a stage she was kinda dull. If you’re hoping for fun stories or hearing about your favorite performances or at least your favorite songs from her memorable performances it doesn’t happen. One from music man and it was just ok. It was an odd set list at best and a lackluster evening. I was very disappointed. Yawn.
I also had a friend attend who was disappointed especially at those prices. He said very little charisma on display.

Unfortunately, I agree with what's being said. I haven't seen her at Cafe Carlyle, but I've seen her a few times in solo shows, and she just doesn't do anything for me in that venue. I think I went multiple times because I've loved her in shows and kept thinking I'd seen an off night. Going to the Carlyle in June for Megan Hilty and hopeful for that one. She's had a rough year, and I'm happy she's getting back into things. Hope I'm wrong about Sutton for those of you going, but eh.

At those prices she should be warmed up out of the gate.

Would be super grateful if you could provide a set list for the current show! Just wanted to see what I was missing! Thanks!

I agree, saw her several years ago and she displayed very little personality during the show. What made that even more surprising to me was she mentioned she had family in the audience.

I’m surprised to hear these reports. She was really delightful the last time she was at Cafe Carlyle and truly full of personality. I’m really curious now to see how she is next Friday. I’m predisposed to love her, but I’ll try to give an accurate assessment.
Saw her at Carlyle last time she was there. We were excited about the show for weeks prior to seeing it. It was extremely disappointing and ,needless to say, very expensive. We were also surprised how lackluster she was in Music Man. Wonder whether she has lost her "Mojo " or perhaps interest. We have gone from biggest fans to the point where we may not even bother seeing her next show.
Has/does Sutton really get a break or hiatus from working? Between Younger, solo concerts, various Broadway shows, readings, TV appearances - she seems to be booked and busy most of the time. I wonder if it would help these reports of lacking personality? I mean, regardless - anything less than 100% at those prices is disappointing.
Her appearance on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel this last season was enjoyable.
CC's prices are eye-watering, so the talent really needs to be consistent, solid and great from the start.
I refuse to be packed in there like cattle and haven't done that room since Stritch. The seating was so tight and the food/service so awful, I vowed never to go back.
I do, however, like to get wonderfully tipsy next door at Bemelmen's.
Happy to report that she’s just as wonderful as she was in 2019. Really bubbly and full of energy, she even crochets while she sings Sunshine. Hard to imagine any fan of hers not leaving happy. I loved it. She does Joni proud.

It depends on where you’re seated, if you have an earlier dinner reservation, you can have your pick of the room. I thought the food and service was pretty good.
The intimacy of the room can result in the show going either way, it might result in a feeling of vulnerability for some performers. I recently saw Rufus Wainwright and also felt something was off. One memorable moment was him stopping mid song to admonish a couple who were arguing. I’m not sure why they were rowing, but it was shortly after the bill arrived…..maybe one of them told the other dinner was included!
