Passport often gets shows that don't show up on regular TDF. I think it happened once before when they accidentally listed Passport shows on regular TDF and I think they did end up refunding the tickets in the end.
I’m an MTC subscriber and had already bought a ticket to The Hills of California (and I’m sure many other MTC subscribers have also done so). I haven’t had any notification from MTC about this yet, but I hope they’re planning to do something to compensate subscribers who end up with two tickets to the show.
I’ll answer my own question. Today I got email from MTC announcing that they have added The Hills of California to this season’s schedule. The email said to call or email if you have already bought a ticket, so I called the subscriber services line to ask what they’re going to do for me. I was told they will refund a proportionate part of the cost of my subscription, which comes to $113. When I said, “So I’m screwed because I have already spent $215 on a ticket?”, the guy laughed and said he had just talked to a woman who had spent more than $600 on two tickets, and she wasn’t happy, either. Some subscriber service. Manhattan Theatre Club, if you’re reading this, you should know that any chance there may have been that I will ever consider making a charitable donation to you has just gone up in smoke.
It’s interesting because Water for Elephants also had a 30 dollar rush for under 35 MTC people. subscribers? I don’t have a subscription but I always take advantage of this ticket scheme. Im assuming they’ll have it for hills of California as well. I guess it’s a win win for them and for the producers of California
It's interesting that this wasn't included as an option in the newly announced 30 Under 35 subscription from MTC (neither was Bad Kreyol but that's included in the Signature subscription), so I'm not sure if they'll be doing the 30 Under 35 tickets for this
I just passed by the Broadhurst and it looks like they are painting the foyer. There were men working there and it looked like it was getting painted. And Sonia Friedman was outside on a folding chair talking to a woman. Going down a little further, I didn’t realize the row residents hung out in front of the Majestic. It used to be a few here and there, but now it’s a block party. Now that the scaffolding is down, it’s a more attractive place to be. Let’s hope the police are stationed there when performances start for Gypsy and Sunset and they secure 44th street. We already know theres so much pick pocketing that has happened.
