only the leads have been announced, no mention of ensemble for the show. Makes me believe some ensemble members aren't transferring with the show to Broadway.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I saw it twice in Atlanta (once with Carolee and once with Beth) and though it wasn't my favorite show ever, I will say that the finale sequence was absolutely beautiful in terms of dance. There was a lot of ballet and modern type stuff that was very effective and moving! I don't recall that there was a ton of tap though.

But the fact that there is any tap is just...irksome. I've read this book so many times and not once did I think "tap number."

We often speak at these boards about what material is good fodder for musical theater. We hear a lot of "what were they thinking?" Here the thinking seems smart. This story strikes me as just about ideal, containing enough of the classic elements ("Brigadoon"
and enough contemporary trappings (a young love story, fill in the blank) to make its musicalization seem in every way appropriate. I hope this team pull it off. It's a popular book for a good reason, and if the show is halfway good, it could be a viable commercial property. I'm rooting for it.

Wait -- the musical doesn't have a love story, does it? Winnie's around 10 and Jesse Tuck is 17. Does the musical do what the movie did and age her up?

we've been getting complete casting announcements for most of the spring shows arriving on Broadway. Waitress, American Psycho, Shuffle Along, She Loves Me & Disaster have all made announcements recently, so I wonder how soon we'll see an announcement from Tuck Everlasting. I know the leads have been announced, but I'm looking for a full cast announcement.

The full cast has been announced. Does this mean Brooklyn will alternate with Sarah Charles Lewis? I can't imagine she'd sign on as a standby/understudy?

Why not? Because she was Matilda? Gabby was Matilda and took standby for Fun Home. It's great experience....
I can't imagine she would be an alternate from the way it's listed - she would be announced in the cast as that part then, not with the crowd. Maybe in the chorus in a not critical part? Who knows..

Brooklyn is probably just an understudy. Gabby was only an understudy when she was originally cast in fun home. It's not like everyone coming out of Matilda is demanding main roles.

There are several songs from the show on youtube.
It's got the folksy sound of their previous shows like The Burnt Part Boys and Fugitive Songs.

Yesterday Jordan Roth did an hour-long periscope session of a Tuck Everlasting rehearsal. They were working on the opening number and it was fascinating to get a glimpse of the creative process.

I totally understand the concept of the logo, but I just hate it. It looks so cheesy to me. But excited to see the show. Love the book as a kid.

I am glad someone posted the footage from yesterday. It was really an interesting little treat to watch. And it also made me wonder why has no show ever done something like this before? I mean with how important social media has become to pretty much every day life, this looks like a fantastic way to promote a show while it's still in development.
I was really not at all interested in this show even though I am a huge fan of a number of the actors in it, but catching this stream has gotten my interest peeked quite a bit and made me re-consider my original choice to call this a pass.

The video completely sucked me in for the full hour. I think it was a brilliant use of periscope and social media. Jordan Roth was a bit over-the-top gushing at times.....but the cast and creative were all lovely and seemed to be having fun. For someone who has eagerly awaited this show, it will really cool to see the creative process and see a bit about how they plan to introduce the story in the opening number.

Jordan Roth said they might start doing a weekly periscope for rehearsals and not just for tuck. I really hope it catches on and actually becomes a thing!
