This wasn't what I had in mind...
Meh. I hope she's good.
She'll be great, I have no doubt. She has such presence and natural talent. I only wish I could see her.
Akiva
So she's going to be with Anthony and Adam?
That should be interesting.

I honestly don't know the first thing about her, so I'm refraining from comment until I see her performance. I certainly wish her the best, and I wonder if her casting is going to have a significant impact on ticket sales.
i wanna see Adam Pascal jump on her and suddenly have Dateline NBC pop out and ask Adam if he's ever seen their show before. hahaha

I think she will be good. Well at least I hope she will be.

I like this! She will be great in the role.
Tamyra will be 28 years old, folkyboy.
OMG, that's soooo old, she doesn't look like she's 16!
Wow. Too bad I don't live in NYC. She was thrilling in Bombay Dreams, and she will be perfect in Rent. She will show off her abilities again. A real triple threat. She is gorgeous, a very nice girl and a fantastic composer, she wrote many of her own songs, plus songs for Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Simpson. Amazing.
Despite the fact that she was on American Idol, it doesn't even feel like stunt casting. (Although her voice is much fuller than I'd expect a Mimi's to be.) Considering the awful material she was given on that nearly unmentionable Boston Public, the girl can act. And singing is no question. It's almost enough to make me want to see Rent again.
She was not great in BOMBAY, and I can't see her having the right voice for this role - let alone 8 times a week for 6 months.
Sanjaya won't be in Rent anytime soon...they're considering him for Fiyero.

Click the link below to hear her sing "And I am Telling You..." from an H&M commercial last year. She's not that bad.

You are are wrong - they've just cast Sanjaya as Lauren Pritchard's replacement in Spring Awakening.
I still want to see Rent this summer. It's gonna be good.
Since Broadway is on an American Idol kick, I would love to see Olivia Mojica from the second season as Mimi.
Honestly? Cool. She's a very good singer, and I agree that her stage presence will probably be very good. Admittedly, I haven't really seen her act before. I know that a lot of people were hoping for former cast members to reprise their roles along with Adam and Anthony, but I actually think Tamyra might be good. If she's bad, I'll obviously be eating these words later.

Olivia Mojica already has enough on her plate. What with the new adult tape she's peddling to certain websites...
Wow, I like this.
