I’ve noticed this weekend he’s been visiting a number of musicals (shucked. Kimberly akimbo. Some like it hot). I’m curious if he’s looking to work on Broadway in the nearer future.
any thoughts what he should take on? Apparently he grew up more in the theatre world.
The little clips that I’ve heard of him. He’s not terrible.
it wouldn’t surprise me if with Red White and Royal Blue if some show pulls him in for a limited run. Thoughts?

Matthew Lopez directed RWRB and this was Taylor’s second time seeing the show. Casey McQuiston, author of the RWRB novel, and Taylor were at opening. I’m sure Taylor was in the city and just decided to catch shows including the one his friend co-wrote (SLIH). I see him more in a play than a musical, but who knows.

He’s said he sings and has described himself as a theater kid, so I could see him doing either. Hope it happens!

No idea who this is, either.
But hoping to be on Broadway isn't like car shopping. If he's a theater kid, he's likely "catching up" viewing on a trip.

Oh I know that one can visit a number of Broadway shows without looking to make a Broadway debut. But if you’ve listened to any number of interviews he’s made comments of interest and past theatre experience and love. With the strikes taking place right now. I would assume for scheduling there are a number of actors with chunks of time open now (which would be more open to a stunk cast of 2-4 months) than a full development of a new work. I was just wondering. What people thought he would do well in.

Fair enough. I just think it's annoying when people are like omg they saw "x" show that means they're going to be on Broadway! Not at all. People can see a show without any intention of being on Broadway, in the West End, etc. When Rachel Zegler visited Hadestown people I think took that to mean she was coming in to play Eurydice at some point. No

Nancy Pelosi was at "MJ the Musical" yesterday!!! When do we think she's going into the show?

Exactly. Someone wonders if an actor might do a play when he is forefront in the press at the moment for doing a movie with a popular playwright and people act rude and as if this isn’t a valid conversation to be had here. Grow up, people.

I saw Red, White & Royal Blue this weekend. Zakhar is gorgeous but his acting is very stiff. I listened to his pop song in The Kissing Booth. His voice is fine. He could pull off a Mamma Mia or Britney Spears style jukebox musical. But I don’t know if he has the range for more challenging roles.

Why so bitchy? The original poster expressed curiosity, not a definitive judgment: "I’m curious if he’s looking to work on Broadway in the nearer future."

Grow up to you too. That Pelosi comment was obviously a joke. It's not being rude. It's a joke. Stop being so sensitive."
Thank you so much!

Well I can say the rights to Red White and Royal Blue are unavailable at this time. I don’t know if they are tied with the film right holders if the author sold them off. Or if they have already been granted to someone. I will say that as someone who had reached out a while back now. I was told they are unavailable.

A great deal of (what little) snark there is, is because of this particular OPs history.

He also can't promote the film because of the strike so it's a way to get out 'there' without breaking the rules.

Regarding the movie, I thought it was much better than expected, likely owing somewhat to Lopez's involvement. I found it funny, sexy, romantic, well-written, and not nearly as cringey as it could have been.
