No. She is not a producer of the show (directly or indirectly). The producers are Jeffrey Seller and Flody Suarez. I also doubt that Cher is going to be designing the costumes. Her only involvement is going to be cashing the royalty checks.

Don't forget other Chicago tryouts included War Paint and Trevor. Which I am not sure why nobody is talking about the latter.

Also falling under the category of Memorable-Chicago-pre-B'way-tryouts-of-years-past:
The Goodbye Girl, January 1993, Shubert;
Odyssey (Yul Brynner), May 1975, Arie Crown, and
The Wizard of Oz, June 1902, Grand Opera House (the only one of the 3 I didn't see...)

My husband told me that Cher was coming to Broadway next season. Imagine my surprise to find that it would be a trio of fauxChers instead. What a dreadful idea!

Good News: Alice Faye, John Payne, Stubby Kaye (Shubert, June 1974),
Sheba: Kay Ballard (1st Chicago Center, July 1974).
Saw both.

Hope they work on the logo! And 3 actresses?! Sounds misguided.

Depends on how they do it. Like in On Your Feet, if a child Cher gets a brief moment, its not a big deal. Also, if they are taking this up to the present, we would need a Cher at 70. Im cool with seeing a middle aged and senior Cher.
Also glad Lesli is not longer attached. No mugging and scenery chewing needed.
Cher herself, is rather introspective and even though she's a badass, she's not some angry rocker chick. She's dry, saracastic and blunt. She's not really "sassy."
I think Lena would be solid if she took it in a less aggressive direction. I also think Ana would be great, but she might not be keen on playing another pop icon.

Does anybody know if Bob Mackie is designing costumes for this show?

There was a "hint" dropped about an actress nominated for Tony in 2017 whose initials are SJB being attached to the project. I would watch her in anything, and she's the reason for me going to Chicago to watch this.

Bebe Neuwirth would be a phenomenal old Cher.

I'm surprised Orfeh hasn't been involved at some point.

Has anyone commented on the premise of 3 Chers being the same one as the Donna Summer musical trying out at La Jolla Playhouse? Both have Broadway talent working on them (and LaChanze is playing the oldest Donna), I figured they'd be jockeying to see who could arrive in NYC first. Looks like Cher may have won.
And I personally love Cher and am excited for this. I think maybe how these jukebox shows go is you're annoyed by them until you really like the artist.

I saw that too, Jorge! I'd place money on Stephanie being involved. And thank GOODNESS. Hopefully she acts as more of the "lead" Cher - whatever age that will be.

'I'll be there'--well I won't be there.
I wish every show success as it gives so much work for however long and there is an audience[hopefully] for all types of shows and subject matter.
I have no interest in her voice[yuk!] and type of music[yuk!yuk!] but love the costumes.
Hope it is a smash without my single ticket purchase.
