mll85, what was the secret word?
http://www.ktvu.com/station/13272969/detail.html
I didn't even know about this. I don't watch KTVU in the morning. And besides the tickets are for 5/22 and I'm in Davis during the weekdays. I'm only in SF on the weekends.
I asked Jarrod about the Toronto cast and here is what he said.
No idea about the Toronto cast. Last I heard there was some kind of problem with the theater so if there's no exact date (or even if there is, since the plan was for something like a year from now) they probably don't know exactly who's going where just yet. I'm pretty sure they plan to sit us down in Chicago for a long while, and the other tour's schedule is set for the next 18 months or so.
It looks like we are going to have a 3rd tour.

From that article that was posted on the jersey boys blog about Toronto, it gave the impression that there would be a Canadian cast, maybe a sitdown. But the tour site says more info, probably dates and theater, will be out about Toronto after 5/30.
Man, Jersey Boys is seriously blowing up. Productions are popping up all over the place.
Sorry, mll85, got you confused with the "Mike" who comments on the Jersey Boys blog.

No problem. Although I do comment on the Jersey Boys Blog, and my name is Mike, I'm not the Mike you're speaking of. I just sign off as Mike when I comment there. I think you're talking about the Mike who signs his comments on the blog with his full name because he mentioned the KTVU thing on one of his comments.
I the other Mike who posts on the JBB I am pretty sure also posts on this thread.

Well I'm sure there are alot of guys named Mike that enjoy the show, me included.
Great performace tonight even though there was a little tech problem :P
Hopefully everything goes well like finely tuned engine as time go by.
My aunt who have seen the show for the 1st tme enjoyed the show very much and she said it was like an experience of a lifetime...JB being her first musical...ever!
Okay details of the tech problem...
It has happened before to the 1NT and now to the 2NT when the show got interrupted for like 20 minutes because the lift in front of the stage malfunctioned and wouldn't go all the way up and you could hear the metal parts grinding against the wooden part of the stage that almost knocked the mic stands.
The problem occured well about 10 minutes into the 2nd act after the "Beggin" scene and during "Stay".
The announcer suddenly announced that the show have to be stopped for safety reasons and for people to remain seated while the problem is being fixed.
It kinda dampened the athmosphere because of the delay but the audience were more than patient and waited for like 15-20 minutes.
Mike Driscoll who plays Gyp de Carlo adlibbed twice that made the people laugh...firstly by drinking his rum before exiting and saying that they will be back and yelled for "Jimmy" to fix the problem immediately. He appeared again midway through the delay and acting like again saying that "nobody should know about this" :P
Drew Gehling seems to be really stressing out because at that time when the malfunction was ocurring and hearing the mechanisms get stuck...he kinda had the WTF look into his face and then they all exited after the safety announcement.
After the trap door got closed....it was decided that it wouldn't be used for the rest of the night and instead...stage managers or stage hands brought the props out individually like the chairs where Frankie and Francine will seat down during the death scene, the 4 mic stands for the reunion of the 4 seasons, etc.
I don't blame the actors nor anybody for the tech problem that happened last night because it's the nuances of doing live shows and those things are eventually gonna happen but everybody adapted very quickly and got into their mind set and performed with their best.
I really appreciate the hard work this company has put in to make this show possible.

I guessed...seasons.
You will never win if you don't try :P
Just a brief review on last night's show 5/17.
We were seating on the right orchestra section and the side speakers pointing to us kinda made it into a different perspective because sometimes the bass could be so loud I could feel it in my heart :P while on some points, the amplified track sounds and live music overpower the singing and speaking voices of the actors. That's why I miss center stage.
Overall...great job with the show but it will get me a couple more shows to get used to the new cast since I have seen the 1NT aka sherry 5X and I had to lie to my aunt that I had only seen it twice :P (so she wouldn't think I am irresponsible :)
Jarrod as Frankie is refreshing, remarkable and pleasing since he sings the songs effortlessly like it's close to being natural since he's got a good falsetto but for some reason I still feel some Pesci vibe in him during the "younger years" but he delivers overall.
Jeremy as Devito is subdued but his years of acting and singing experience on stage makes him a delight to see on stage.
Goveia as Massi is simple but entertaining.
Gehling as Gaudio is interesting because he puts his own personality into the character.
Some of my other favorites are Wade, Kara and the hot and spicy Ryan West
I think this thread needs bumping.
I have just made a music page for the sherry cast, I have turned Erich's videos in to mp3s and put them on their.

A great interview of Craig Laurie, the SF/Chicago Bob Crewe (although people who regularly post on this thread know that already), was just posted on the Jersey Boys Blog.

LOVE Craig.
I miss these guys already.
Howard did a great job on that interview. Je are talking about having him do one with Chris while he is in LA. it is in the works.
I will also being doing one with Jarrod.
oh btw, Jarrods new nick name is J-Spec.

My friends and I have been calling Jarrod J-Spec for a while now... the only problem is that one of the swings in the 2NT is named Jake Speck... could cause confusion. :)
It is so Jarrod, we will have to come up with something else for Jake so that it doesnt get confusing.
I added a song to Jarrods Music page. it is Jarrod singing "cant give you anything but love" when he was 6.

Well, atleast this cast doesn't have 3 Erics in the cast. Now that was confusing if you weren't familar with the Sherry Co.

Well when you're writing something out it's fine because you can tell the difference by the spelling. It gets confusing when you're talking about the cast since all three spelling are pronunced the same. There were a bunch of times when I would be in the rush line talking to about the cast to someone who hasn't seen the show and when I start talking about the Erics they would get confused.
ok, just another tidbit - I saw the Broadway cast for the second time a few days ago, and got to chat with John Lloyd Young for a bit. He said that the Vegas cast is going to start in SF, so SF will be able to experience a third cast. Again, not official but it did come from his mouth and it confirms suspicions posted on the casting call. So if this is true, my guess is that the show will be here past Sept 30.
I also ran into Heather Ferguson who remembered me from SF! She was confused as to which coast I live on. :)

I read some where that the vegas cast may be taking over in July. I just sent a message to someone asking. I dont know if it is true or not.

I doubt it because those open call notices posted on the official sites say they're to start rehersals in August or January
