Posted: 7/18/07 at 11:47amSo, went to the show last night, and it was great to see Michael Ingersoll back in SF, and he sounds really great with this cast. Although I can only imagine how strange it must have been for him to be doing the same show he did just a few days ago, but with almost entirely new people.

They've gotten rid of all the broadway ones. Now there are only photos of the 2 companies, and there are new ones, post Nick switch.

Posted: 7/18/07 at 4:23pmFunny seeing the Curran Lobby Cards with just the Jersey Boys logo and no production photos on them this past Sunday evening..... The lobby looked much better with the production photo lobby cards..... Today, I'm attending the evening show, and am wondering if they posted up new ones. It will be nice seeing Michael back on the Curran stage with Jarrod!

Looks like Wade McCollum is going to be doing Cabaret in Portland, Oregon. The run is about a month, so will he be leaving Jersey Boys for good or just as a leave of absence?

or is it another reason for him to bail out of his current company (ala Crawford) in time for the Vegas or London company formation?
Who will replace him as Waxman? Hickman and West probably.

Well if Wade is moving to another project then he'll probably be leaving at the end of Aug or early Sept because they would need time for rehersal. We just have to find what exactly the situation is going to be from him. This is kind of dissapointing because I like the voice he uses for Norm Waxman. It just makes the character more sinister then when Miles played it. But I wish him sucess in all his future projects.

Ryan does NOT cover Norm. John Hickman and Jake Speck do.
They don't list covers for ensemble in the Playbill, only the principals (4 seasons, Gyp, Crewe).

I didn't think so, but I don't have a playbill on me.
Crewe and Gyp are technically featured ensemble, right?

According to Actor's Equity, they're principals.
On Broadway the actor's in those tracks do much more ensemble work (Crewe is the waiter in the opening scene, Gyp is the drunk in the opening scene, etc). It was the way the tracks were created in LaJolla so they transferred to Broadway with the tracks intact.

It has been said that Andrew Rannells may be playing Bob Gaudio in the Vegas Jersey Boys.

"It was the way the tracks were created in LaJolla so they transferred to Broadway with the tracks intact. "
Actually, at La Jolla there were 3 less actors...they added Mark Lotito as Gyp and Michael Longoria as Joey. Then when Michael decreased his ensemble track to rest up as the Frankie alternate, they added a new track for Travis. At La Jolla I believe that Steve Gouveia was Joey and Donnie Kehr was Gyp. Some of the smaller roles were played by Joe Payne (he played Hank I think...)
Maybe someone can let me know who played Norm Waxman, maybe that was Steve Gouveia as well...it could n't have been Donnie, since he was Gyp.

I think they've alterd the tracks since, or they've changed the tracks for the tour, because that's not what I've seen in both touring companies. The actor in the Bob Crewe track plays only Crewe and Donnie. The actor in the Gyp track plays Gyp, the bowling alley owner, judge, the record exec, and the priest. In the first club scene (which I think is the scene you're refering to as the opening scene) the waiter is done by the actor in the Pesci track and the drunk who says "What's he got that I ain't?" is played the the actor that does Billy Dixon during the backup secessions.

Haha, apparently the sound went like... off about a minute into "Ces Soirées-La". And Drew had major lipstickage after "Oh, What A Night" and didn't know why the audience was laughing. I can't wait to hear about the rest of the show.
Oh, and in case no one else got the memo, as per Lauren, Kara is going on for Lyndsey tonight and tomorrow, and for Lauren on Saturday and Sunday.
Would y'all like a track-by-track breakdown of who is what in every scene?
Also, my $0.02 on the Waxman thing. Good luck to Wade on his show, even if he's only gone temporarily. I thought Hickman was absolutely great when I saw his second and third performances in that track (the Sunday RQW was in for Gaudio.) You could tell he was still getting used to things (like the blood packet), but since they were his first few performances, and they were last-minute after Wade got injured, I think he'd do just fine on a permanent basis. I particularly liked the air he caught while jumping in "Working My Way".
