The date is already saved. Can't wait until more details are announced. If it's going to be anything like the last one, which I unfortunately couldn't attend but was able to hear, it's going to be one fun night.
No I don't mind, I can send you the unalterd copies so you can crop what you need and I have a few more photos that I'm not going to post just because they're very similar.

Hi, Michael Ingersoll! I'm still getting used to seeing him with this cast. Love the pics at Union Square, thanks for sharing. (It looks so cold.)
Yes, more posts about the LA Sherry cast would be really appreciated! I really loved how much Courter Simmons had improved as Joey, after seeing him start out in the role in SF and then seeing him in LA a few months later. Now I'm wishing I had seen Rick as Frankie... although I'm too big of a Chris Kale Jones fan.
Do people like Eric Gutman better as Bob Gaudio, or Tommy DeVito?
It's great seeing the principals from the 2nd tour get so much public exposure compared to the 1st tour cast in San Francisco. Since LA is mostly media driven, Chris and cast get to perform more on TV on radio shows, but think that the LA public appearance at the record store is great as well!
I've seen Jarrod Spector, John Michael Dias, John Lloyd Young, Rick Faugno, and Christopher Kale Jones as Frankie in person. They are just an excellent group of lead actors and totally deserve their roles. Aside from different looks and acting styles, the group responsible for casting all Jersey Boys casts worldwide should deserve applause for their excellent job in spotting talent for our entertainment pleasure, not to mention honoring Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons too!
I live in LA and have seen both Chris and Rick (also just got to see John Lloyd Young while in NYC last week). Strictly speaking about vocals -- I love John Lloyd Young's voice. It just has this incredible tone and range. I think his voice is exceptional.
But...and I think this may be influenced because he was the first Frankie I saw -- I'm a big Chris Jones fan as well. He has a fantastic voice, but more so, he really matures onstage from the teenage to the adult Frankie. (JLY does the same, which is why I might be biased to the first cast I saw as Jersey Boys.) Chris really gives everything he has to his performances. I've said 'Hi' to Chris after the show and he seems like the sweetest guy. Not to take anything away from Rick, because he has an incredible voice as well.
Having seen the Sherry Company and the Broadway cast, it really is almost like seeing two different shows. I have to say that the Sherry Company has the comedic timing down pat. When I was in NYC, I was waiting for reactions to lines that never came. I'm not sure if it was the type of audience in the house or what.
Regardless, give me any Frankie or any cast and I'd love the show all the same. :)
By the way for the Jersey Boys fans in the Bay Area. Do you know what the line is like for Student Rush tickets nowadays? We were thinking about seeing the 2nd Company and was wondering how early we'd need to get in line for tickets (on the weekends)?
The rush line in SF is not chaotic at all, and just to let you know it's not student but a general rush. They're sold 2 hours before each show and people start lining up 90 mins to 2 hours before they sell them. So the 2pm matinee rush tickets go on sale at 12pm but people start lining up at the earliest 10am. And for the 8pm show, around 330pm or 4pm. And in general, the line gets really long about 45-60 minutes before rush is sold. The theater has wireless internet so you can bring a laptop while you're waiting. It's like that for both weekdays and weekends. It's just $25 cash only with ID, but they stopped checking. They give away 25 tickets each time and they're considered "obstructed view" front row seasts but you really only miss things in the very back of the stage. Updated On: 7/26/07 at 09:54 PM

Is it just me or is LA starting to build a JB fan base here on BWW?
I have seen Chris as well, but I just didn't enjoy his performance. His singing was fine for the most part. He also sounded more like Frankie than I expected, because I had seen some clips of him already (I'm familiar with the Tonight Show thread, by the way *rowr*). I'm probably alone on this, but what bothered me was that his accent sounded very unnatural, which made every spoken scene seem very unnatural. Overdone, maybe. I'd be completely involved in a scene and then get pulled out of it every time he spoke to think, "That's Chris Jones pretending to be Frankie Valli."
It may have been an off night singing-wise as well. Toward the end, he had trouble with some full-voice high notes, and his falsetto wasn't registering over the music. I don't fault him for that though. And I definitely see that his character matures from the beginning of the show onward. All in all, I know Chris is very talented. I guess I just didn't like him in this role. Not a big deal of course, I'm just limited to Tuesday and Sunday shows. Hehe, saves me money.
All that said, the Sherry cast is spectacular. I love Rick, I think Erich is perfect as Bob, Melissa and Jackie are the most beautiful scene-stealers, and Deven is just my favorite Season of all. I hope to see the Broadway production one day, but I don't expect that the two shows will be easily compared. While the New York cast would no doubt be excellent, I'm not sure I would be as emotionally invested. There would seem to be more distance between us, I guess. Does that make sense?
Lizzie, thank you! D-E-V-E-N. How hard is that? It's like people purposely avoid that second E. They have a surprisingly easier time with "Erich."

That's interesting, because I really only thought that in one scene, where he sounded super-Jersey: "Tegg 'im unda ya wing, like ya did wit me!"
I think Chris is probably a better actor than a singer, but I definitely enjoyed him all around. The falsetto doesn't come as naturally to him as some other Frankies, though, that's for sure. (Although that had not even occurred to me until I saw a completely different cast.)
And I definitely see that his character matures from the beginning of the show onward.
I really think he's the strongest of the four Frankies I've seen at doing this. It's really hard, but there's a very very noticeable difference between Act 1 Frankie and Act 2 Frankie when Chris is in the role.

I blame Devon Sawa and Devon Aoki.

Is it just me or is LA starting to build a JB fan base here on BWW? It's about time that happened. I'm sure some of us who can't see the show in LA have been wondering how the Sherry cast has been doing down there. By the way, what do the LA folks who have seen the show recently think of Steve Gouveia, now that you've had 2 different actors play Nick?
I have to agree with some of the stuff being said about Chris. His protrayal of Frankie is definately my favorite overall. But in comparision with the other 3 Frankie protrayls I've seen, he's not the strongest singer. When his singing is on, it's fantastic, but you can definately tell when his singing voice starts to fall out from under him. I remember seeing one performace and could tell he was having an off performance vocally. But his acting of the role is definately the best I've seen. He makes it very distinct when he's playing young and old Frankie and makes a great connection with the audience. Updated On: 7/28/07 at 07:32 PM
