hi everyone! I was just wondering if Michael Ingersoll is back yet? He was out Saturday and Sunday, and just wanted to know when he will return. This question is for a very nagging relative who was very put out he wasn't there on Sunday:) Thanks, I know everyone on this board can be relied upon for info!
Yea he's back. Saw him perform on the 21st and at Union Square last Wed. Sad to hear he was out this weekend and you missed him, and I hope he's not sick or something of that nature. Tthe only time I've heard he missed a show was when he had a dental emergency. But now I gotta know, who was on for Nick this weekend and how did they do?
Edit to add: I heard that they put up new posters with the current cast in the lobby. Can anyone confirm this? Updated On: 7/31/07 at 12:32 AM
Well, he was back on the 17th, as scheduled, and I saw his first weekend back. Plus, if you go back a page, you can see pictures of him singing in Union Square.
I hope he's ok...

I saw him in Union Square too, and loved his solo by the way:) I was sad he was out this weekend, but I guess he was sick. I hope he's ok too. John Hickman went on for him and did a good job, but VERY different from Michael's interpretation of Nick. John has a really low voice too, so everything sounded different I guess:) And he was pretty reserved at first in the role, but at the times when Nick is supposed to get worked up it was pretty funny because he acted completely different than his mostly reserved side. And John Michael Dias was spot on by the way! His voice is very strong, and comes really naturally. Everyone was good! How could they not be? Also, the new promotional poster is in the lobby mll85:) They're great!
I thought about going to the show on Sunday but decided to sleep in. Now I kinda wished I just got out of bed and went. I think this was John Hickman's first time on as Nick because I don't remember anyone mentioning seeing him in that role before. And thanks for the poster confirmation alastor. The cast will actually be able to enjoy them for 2 months. I think the last cast had theirs for 2 weeks. Updated On: 7/31/07 at 12:54 AM
It's in his blog update. He needs fan photos for his new site. But I can't wait for his next update because he's going to be venting about Sacramento. A Little Help (July 31)
That's not even getting into whatever they are doing with sets and tech...
And what do you mean? I love streets that are numeric and alphabetic, which lulls you into thinking they make sense when they totally don't.

sorry I'm joining this discussion a little late - Michael Ingersoll flew back to Chicago last weekend and should be back by now. John Hickman went on as Nick Massi - was that his first time on Sat matinee? He was absolutely fabulous - I've seen John play a few tracks now, and I'm amazed at how versatile he is. I'm amazed at his acting ability - I mean Gyp DeCarlo and Nick Massi are very different parts, and he played them both really well.
Well I guess we can find out from Lizzie's source at the show if Michael's back. But if he's took a short break, he deserves it.
Mike Erickson is on as Gyp DeCarlo Hope Eddie is ok. But it would be interesting to see how Mike does on the Gyp track. And I don't think Mike's regular track and the Gyp track are ever onstage at the same time so I wonder if he's doing both.
I was passing by the theatre and the only people up on the board were Mike on for Eddie and whoever was on for Mike (I don't remember now, sorry). I assume Michael was back because it was like...7:35 or so by then.

Mike Erickson was really entertaining as Gyp. He was sort of... young Tony Soprano. I'm always amused by his facial expressions in his regular track, but now he got to cry, be disgusted, etc. He had great definition of character-- each of the roles had its own posture and voice.
The one thing I wasn't crazy about was his wig, which was curly and very greased-looking.
Jake Speck was on for Mike Erickson's roles. I thought he was especially fun in the Brill Building scene. He had this huge grin on his face and a bouncy little presentation, which just made the whole thing extra weird/funny.

Huh. I wonder if we're getting the "Chicago Gyp" or...?

His leave is unexpected. I though Eddie was a great Gyp. His look made Gyp very intimidating but when he delieverd his lines you saw that Gyp wasn't such a hard mobster. Hope he's sucessful in his next venture what ever it is. I wonder if they're putting him in the Vegas company.
Are they going to fly in Jonathan Weir to finish up the run or have Mike and John cover Gyp until they reach Chicago?
Isn't Wade going to be leaving soon to do Cabaret in Portland. Does anyone know when his last day is.
Eddie will not be joining the Vegas company as his leave from the show was 'not voluntary'. WHAT??? What do you mean by "not voluntary" because now that you put it out there people are going to want to know. Did he get injured and had to leave, have prior comitments and didn't plan on staying with the show long, was he canned, or something else. If you don't want to post the reason that's fine but people are going to be wondering why, obviously I am.
And thanks for the rest of the info about when people are coming and going. Updated On: 8/2/07 at 04:05 AM
Does it have anything to do with the quip in his bio thanking them for letting him out on parole to do this? Or something like that - it's been a while since I've seen a JB playbill. Until tomorrow! Yay!
