And although the preceding info looks rather boilerplate, perhaps they should know that Steve Gouveia and Eddie Driscoll are not featured in the cast currently...

Hehe, I said the same thing. "B.D. Wong!" And I imagine if they thoroughly Vegas-ed the Vegas production, the girls would wear that Lucy Lawless dress in "My Boyfriend's Back." Rockin' bod though.

If they did, the girls better have some double stick tape on or get rid of the shimmy they do during the song, or else there could be some wardrobe slip ups, if you know what I mean. Updated On: 8/7/07 at 01:54 AM
Sergio Trujillo was nominated for both Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for choreographing the Tony-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys. His additional choreography credits include All Shook Up on Broadway; the world premieres of Zhivago (La Jolla), The Mambo Kings (San Francisco), Peggy Sue Got Married (London) and the recent pre-Broadway tryout of the revival of The Wiz (La Jolla); Disney’s re-imagined European production of Tarzan; and the Off-Broadway productions The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Bare: A Pop Opera and Shakespeare in the Park’s recent Romeo and Juliet. For his work in Canada, he’s earned an Ovation Award and three Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations. He also has extensive ballet and opera credits. Sergio began his career as a Broadway performer, appearing in three Tony-winning musicals: Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Guys & Dolls and Fosse.

Mid-show standing ovation, I'd predict. And thanks, mll85, I was already planning to rush this Sunday. Courter Simmons has been great the times I've seen him and seems to improve every show. It'll be interesting to see a different Joey. And Nick! I saw Steve Gouveia at stage door the night before he took over, but I haven't been back for a performance yet. Hopefully this week :)
I can't even understand most of the medley (although that's how it goes with camera phones...kudos to the brave soul who did that ), but it already sounds hysterical. Thanks!

Just in case anyone is wondering what song melodies they used in the meadly, because it was racking my brain after I watched the clip this morning. Just thought I'd post them. They walk onstage to a part of Walk Like A Man. Then it goes: 1. ??? 2. The theme from "The Magnificent Seven" 3. Eye Of The Tiger 4. The River Kwai/Colonel Bogey March 5. Danger Zone 7. Ballad of The Green Beret 8. Theme from "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" 6. The Shaft Theme 7. Walk Like A Man
My brother and his girlfriend saw the show for the first time Tuesday night and loved it. They had great things to say about Deven, Rick, Erich, and the whole production, but I made sure to ask for the specifics on Steve. They thought he was fantastic. Really, really funny. The four of them fit well together, and since he looks a little bit older, the big-brother vibe comes across.
What they loved about Steve's performance was the dejected, Eeyore-like line delivery he does. He got laughs every time he wanted to start his own group (which Michael didn't really get when I saw him), when he sat down and sighed after his rant about Tommy, etcetera. And he made great faces. They couldn't explain it, so I'll have to see on Sunday. Just a very entertaining performance from him.
Oh, and there was a problem with Brandon's mike during "Ces Soirees-La." The girls' voices were there but no rapping at all. It's too bad, the opening is always a highlight for me (and a bonus to see some of the older couples thinking "Whaaa?" at the rap video unfolding onstage ).
LOL...Eeyore! I hadn't thought of that, but it's perfect. I wasn't so hot on Steve's Nick the first time I saw him, but he really grew on me. I think part of why he gets more laughs at "maybe this is a good time for me to start my own group" is because you know he NEVER could or would, and he's just saying it, but Michael's Nick is more hopeful.
Poor Brandon and his mic!

hm, when I went to the Ahmanson, one of the mics weren't working in the second act, and so from the front row, you could hear the phone ringing offstage when francine calls home, but it wasn't miked so no one else could. that was the first time i'd heard the entire argument between frankie valli and mary delgado. chris jones just ended up picking up the phone even though it didn't ring. Also, when the phone rings for the cab to pick up Lorraine when they're breaking up, the phone didn't ring, so Sandra DeNise just said, "My ride's here, I gotta go".
I'm sure technical difficulties happen all the time during the run of any show, but I have to say, I was really impressed with the way the actors did some quick thinking on their feet to make up for it. Updated On: 8/9/07 at 07:40 PM
I'll be in San Francisco for a few days in early October. I've just looked at the Curran website, which says the run is extended to 30 September (only). Has any one got inside information if there's going to be a further extension? If so what is ticket availability normally like?
Having seen the Broadway production twice just after opening in 2005,I hope it won't be a disappointment. Some people say "never go back."
The only thing I've heard is that the Las Vegas cast is going to be replacing the SF/Chicago cast after they leave. This was based off what was posted on the equity casting notices. And it's possible since according to Jennifer Namo's blog from a few weeks ago, they were in the final calls for the Vegas production. I have a feeling that the cast is finalized, and everyone has been notified. However, it was posted earlier in the thread that the Vegas cast isn't coming to SF until November. But nothing is confirmed, it's all just things people overheard.
