Dumb decision on Des's part. That might be part of the reason why Farnsworth is said not to be as good as it was at the Playhouse and why this Jersey Boys production wasn't as good as the rest...
I'd have a hard time saying this production is not as good as the rest, but I would also agree that some of the details have definitely not looked as refined as I've come to expect having seen the 3 other companies. I'm still having a good time with the cast that's here, and it's still a great show, but the "feel" is definitely a little off.
It's either the combination of Farnsworth/new company of Jersey Boys both vying for attention, or they're not going to bother as much with the details until they get to Vegas, and either way that's unfortunate.

Whoo Eric. You deserved it. Hope you have as great of a time in the Broadway Cast as you did with the Sherry Cast.
But crap, now how are we going to find out what's going on with the tour cast? Since Bergen hasn't blogged in ages and he's leaving at the end of the month, Gutman has been the only way to find out what's going on with the cast. And who is going to replace him?
SOMEONE ELSE IN THE SHERRY CAST START A BLOG.
ETA: So according to Zachary's news (http://tinyurl.com/2nthex) page he'll be with the tour until the 16th of this month, what happens after that is still being worked out.
News keeps changing with him that I'm not going to bother guessing. But I'm sure we'll find out soon because that's only a week away.
There are alot of chages this month. Gutman going to Broadway, Bergen leaving at the end of the month. Something going on with Zachary. Is there any other major things happening with the Sherry cast? Seriously, are there? Why isn't the rumor mill running?
Graham has been going on for Joey this whole weekend. He reminds me so much of Michael Longoria, looks wise, it is very fun.
The whole cast just keeps getting better. Rick's acting really brings down the house. His Fallen Angel was so touching, and his singing has gotten better (the 3 nights off help). All in all, it was a pleasure. Jeff is still going strong as my favorite in the cast just because of his presence and everything on stage. He has his tough guy, his soft guy, his voice, and he even dances like a gem. So entertaining to watch. Kristofer McNeeley takes all of his roles in a more "sensitive" direction but they all work.
One thing I didn't enjoy was the fact that it seemed when people were "backup," they seemed to not care as much. Not that they didn't do a movement, or say a line, but they just didn't put much OOMF! behind it. Their faces go dead at many points-
The angels, all three of them, are so solid. They go full out, sing their hearts out, and are just a complete pleasure to watch. I was rocking out most to "My Boyfriend's Back."
This cast started off great and just keep getting better. Excited that their run here in SF was a success (third time is an even bigger charm? I dont know)... All in all, wonderful.
And some of the nicest guys to grace the stage. Are slowly turning into what the first SF cast was, all around great people and even better performers (Bryan McElroy especially, on the "fans love" part).
Keep doing what you people are doing. It is WORKINGGGG.
Edit: AND YAY ERIC! I love you, man! All my best!

Burban, nice to hear the cast is shaping up nicely. Will be catching a show later this week. By the way, saw your original post, not going to say anything about it.

Weekends are always banging.. Tues and Weds nights are the slowest. They are slowly rising though. We all know what will happen closing week and the mass hysteria.
I saw Eric's name as replacing Colin on the board backstage at the Wilson and my friend (who's a huge tour fan) and I freaked out. So happy he's coming to Broadway! And I love his new blog and rag on Ellen's Stardust Diner.
I have tickets to the show in SF tomorrow night and I am SO excited to see this cast! I have seen JB in NYC a few times and the tour in LA, but I hear great things about this company. I assume I will see the alternate Frankie right? I have heard he is really good and he is pretty new to JB right? he didn't come from another company as i far as i can find. He must be pretty good to be able to step right in to the alternate, don't people usually move up from Joey to that part?
So the situation with Zach in regards to the show kept changing on his news page. At first he was heading to Broadway in the middle of the Seattle run. Then it said he was finishing out the Seattle run and probably staying with the tour. Then it said his was leaving the tour on the 16th but didn't say what was happening after. Well now he's it's been updated again and it says that after the 16th he "will be covering Frankie in the Broadway company for a while!" Check his news page for updates.
I wonder if it's a temporary thing or a permanent thing.
ETA: Although thinking about it, it seems like a permanent thing. Every company of JB has 4 people who can play Frankie except for Broadway, that I think only has 3. They don't have a swing who covers Frankie. I'm thinking if it's a permanent move, he'll be taking Grahm's place as the swing who can cover Frankie.
