I would like to see Lea Salonga as Elphaba after her Asian tour of Cinderella.

Is it true that Carol Channing has never missed a show of HELLO, DOLLY?<<<
Although I don't know about her record, my neighbor saw her in the show the day she was up for some award or something and she did the show instead of appearing at the ceremony. I can ask and double check just what the circumstance was.
I think once Lea Michele does leave, however, the rest will follow suit.
I can't believe I am bumping this up, but there are some hints on her Facebook page (she accepts fans) that she is somehow going to be involved with Wicked. Any news on this?
millie_dillmount, what are these so-called "hints"?
Some advance reviews of GLEE seem to be quite positive, so she may not have the time come the fall.
Does she have the voice or stage presence for the role?
Some of the "hints" on facebook were:
- Lea Michele dance dance dance, wicked, dance, get ready, dance some more.
- Lea Michele is ready to defy gravity :)
Those are really the only things that she mentioned Wicked in recently....
Those sound like hints to me. Ugh. She might be able to pull it off...but I think she'd be unhappy with the make up. I know she'd get pretty fussy about her hair during SA and how damaged it was getting.
Do I want to see it? Um....no.
Um, those are pretty obvious to me, unless she's just doing some sort of concert or something. But it seems strange to go from moving to LA to pursue television, get a TV show, and then go back to being a replacement on Broadway? I know, a job is a job, but still.
Does she have the voice or stage presence for the role?
Like anyone would care.
I have been thinking about it and i think that it might have to do with her show "Glee" maybe she is doing a song from Wicked, most likely Defying Gravity in it, and thats what she is talking about.... just guessing though!

No offence, but does anyone know how Lea Michele landed a role in "Glee." I know she came out to L.A. for a couple of weeks to do Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl and a couple of concerts. Did she just have 'luck' and audition for something out here and get the role right away?
Her agent could have gotten her auditions in New York *wink wink*
She got the role on GLEE by auditioning like everyone else,
from the promos it seems the part was right up her alley.
Actors go back and forth from both coasts.
They are actors and that's where the work mostly is.
They have I believe, filmed episodes and are filming more, so it is likely she will have time to fit in a stint in WICKED, but if she is bloging about dancing, it may be a WICKED inspired number on GLEE.

What ever happened to that Alyssa Fox girl?
I don't think she has the acting chops for "Wicked." And that's saying a lot.

Kinda on topic---I just watched the pilot for Glee and it was just ok. It had it moments, but alot of it was just boring. Not sure how long this will last, so she may have a chance to be in Wicked.
It got a really positive review in "Entertainment Weekly," so if the rest of the reviews are kind, and it even keeps a third of American Idol's audience, I think it will get picked up easily.

So true.
I love that anybody would say an actress who has played Wendla isn't capable of the acting portion of Elphaba. It's not like there's a lot of subtle nuance or subtext to ANYTHING in Wicked. Puh-leeze.
Say what you will about Spring Awakening, but it is an incredibly challenging show to act. Granted, that's partially because of how sloppy the book can be, but I digress.
Okay sorry to say this but her photo on her facebook is beautiful! I'm gay I think she looks amazing! I wouldn't mind her doing Elphaba just because I don't care about the show.
Lea Michele should play Elphaba already!
