I love Lea , but I can not see her in the role of Elphaba. This is kind of strange, but I don't think she has the 'maturity' for that role. It's weird, I can't even explain it.

Hate me or not for my opinion, but look at the girls playing Elphaba. I haven't heard half of them other then looking them up on google, and most of them are standbys and understudies in either Chicago, SF, or the tours
Though granted, Lea Michele isn't a household name but I wouldn't expect her to take a role like Elphaba, and if she did then she does.

Wicked is notorious for only casting people with previous involvement in the show.

To be honest, Lea Michele looks more of a Nessarose to me.

No, because there were no rumors to start with.

are you serious? Yeah cause Lea told me the other day that she's gonna leave Glee to be the 27th replacement Elphaba in Wicked!

Don't you just love these threads - 3 years later, when the topic never happened. But, people are still convinced that it will because "they heard" that it will.

Can someone start "The Lea Michele - Funny Girl Rumor" thread?

If a WICKED movie ever actually happens and they go with younger 'name' stars, I assure you Lea Michele will certainly be in the running. I think she is certainly appropriate for the part and has become quite well known enough to take the role.
Ok....Now, I await the BWW backlash.

I agree that she would definitely be in the running for that role. She is well-known (now because of Glee) so that would bring in more money and popularity, and since Elphaba ages during the show, could Idina Menzel also play Elphaba? Well, she DOES look like Lea :/ The only problem I see with that is that everyone is used to seeing Shelby (Idina) as Rachel's (Lea) mom on Glee.

Now, Christian, credit where credit is due. That quote belongs to Desiree, not Marquise.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Crap! Thank you for pointing that out. Blonde moment!
Apologies, Desiree and Marquise. My mistake! I have edited the original post. Thank you for pointing it out, singtopher.

Hahaha apology accepted! I don't think they would cast an "older elphaba" and a "younger elphaba" because although she ages, she certainly doesn't age THAT much haha.

I agree that she would definitely be considered for the Wicked movie, but I highly doubt she is going to play Elphaba on Broadway. I do think that being the 26th replacement or whatever number it is would be a setback, especially for someone who's career just keeps skyrocketing. I'm not saying that it would be a setback in general, because for most people it would be an incredible opportunity, just not for the star of Glee.
