Passing Phase and Stoned are my two new favorite songs. GLORIOUS.

I rushed to CVS to get something to play my ipod in the car so I could listen to it as fast as possible. Luckily it was my turn to control the car audio!!!
Loved every minute of it and I got quite a few looks from my sister as I was rocking out to the music...

Could someone tell me how the hell I can get these tracks on my Zen Micro MP3 player. I downloaded Itunes, just so I could listen to this, but I'd like this in portable form too.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was supposed to go to the "listening" party tonight, but fell asleep at 7, and just woke up...Anybody go?

You have several options. The tracks are not "protected", so you may be able to convert them to mp3's directly within iTunes, under Advanced...Convert selection to mp3. Haven't tried that. There is also software available to convert even protected iTunes files to mp3. I use Soundtaxi, which works well for me; there are probably others as well. And finally, you can burn the tracks to an audio CD, then convert the CD to mp3 format. You lose a little quality that way, but doubt that most people would notice the difference.
Hope that is helpful.

Frogs,
My advice would be to burn them on a cd, the import the cd into whatever program you use for your zen.
OR, itunes has an export function, it should be under "file." You should be able to get them into another program.

Thanks for the help everyone. I am not too great at the multimedia devices and files. Give me an Excel spreadsheet and I'm fine, but this stuff is way over my head for some reason.

I stopped by for a bit. All of the cast were there, except Stew, who was outside briefly but never came inside, at least while I was there. Everyone was nice and approachable, as always. A really friendly and down to earth group of people.

A New York-Based Broadway Cast Recording is #21 on the National iTunes albums charts. That's gotta be some kind of record.
I get chills when I listen to Passing Phase and Love Like That.
I am obsessed with Church Blues Revelation / Freight Train though.. and also, Merci Beaucoup, M. Godard. Love it.

Ok, last night I downloaded SoundTaxi, but didn't realize that the trial version shortens the songs to 90 seconds. This morning I spent the 20 bucks and got a license code and now we're converting files. I have to leave for work in 20 mins, hopefully this gets done in time!

Oh gosh, I love the whole recording. I really like what they did with What's Inside Is Just Lie. It's sounds so good.

In iTunes, just right-click on each track and click "Convert selection to mp3" (it says something like that). Then just copy to your Zen.

frogs, you didn't have to pay 20 bucks for the program. As it was mentioned before, the songs are DRM-free, so you can do whatever you want with them. iTunes files are normally in AAC format, but can be easily converted to MP3 file.
Like modnar had mentioned, right-click the track and look for Convert selection to MP3. If it says Convert selection to AAC, then you'll have to adjust that in the preference folder. PM me if you need help. I can guide you through it.

I have to admit (don't take this the wrong way) that I cleaned the house in 1/2 the time, listening to the OBCR! Gets one in an exhilarating mood! DONE!~

Best Score this season better than that Hispanic Rent aka. "In The Heights!" That show has 4-5 good songs, that's it!

Agreed about it having the best score.
Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone - it shouldn't IMO - but I very much see Passing Strange as the new Hedwig. Not only because of the rock show feel but there's the narrated life journey. I'm not saying it's Hedwig 2 or anything like that, PS is very much its own show. But I just mean that I think a lot of people who appreciate a good score when they hear it, specifically a modern/rock one, would find this to their liking. I believe that many of my friends who aren't familiar with Broadway, but don't have anything against it and love Hedwig would very much enjoy this one, too.

I thought the same thing! Well, my aunt did. I took her for her birthday to see it and after the first act she said that the last time she'd been so moved and entertained by a musical was Hedwig.
...so i guess not really a comparison, but kinda it is...

haha she's such a New-Yorker-Art-Snob.
She never EVER stands for a show at the end. I've been going to the theatre with her for 17 years and have never seen her stand, even if all of us had been cheering wildly.
Except for Passing Strange.

Hey GREG, I know you're new to the board, but can you be my new "tech guru"??
Anyway, welcome GREGJ, MODNAR, OVERTHEMOO and NYCBOY2 to the SCARYOTYPES. You have shown enough love for the show already, so repeat after us: (track 5 - Sole Brother)
