Hi VERY! I am on "hold" for Unemployment Insurance, and have been aggravated for the last 1 1/2 hours trying to complete this. Their on-line AND phone system sucks big time. I am wasting the entire afternoon, so I'll just post while I listen to that nauseating voice mail crapola. Just when it was starting to feel real (ha!).
My hangover finally left after 2 days.

Yes, 1 1/2 Martinis, 2 days (recuperating)!
I am NOT a regular drinker. My whole family is the same way!
From now on, an occasional Lite Beer, or Chivas and water/rocks.
That's it.
I finally finished that stupid UI! Yay!
Now, on to chores! Yipee, I get to clean the house with nobody's help around here.

Same here, Tiny. It's laundry-day for me and I am lazy as hell. I didn't get the Hair tickets from the virtual line tickets tonight, so I was planning to go try the Hairspray lottery with a friend of mine, who had to cancel because got called into work. I might go see the Mamma Mia movie. I want to see something really light.

I'm still thinking about Sunday's performance. It's great to see all the pictures and avatars from that performance -- thank you everyone for sharing them!
These are some of the parts of Sunday's performance that I'll remember the most:
Eisa Davis being brought onstage for Keys
the intensity that Rebecca Jones brought to "Right when it was starting to feel real" in "Come Down Now"
Daniel Breaker in the funeral scene -- one blink and the tears were just streaming from his eyes
Colman Domingo bringing the videocamera onstage during the curtain call (and everything else about the curtain call -- even more insane than "Keys" was during the show IMO)
Stew's "Gibbs, that's how the ****ing song goes" in "Work the Wound"
How about for you guys?

Holding Annie Dorsen's champagne after the show.
Jumping up and down with Kelly McCreary and Oskar Eustis during "Keys"
So today I took a legal pad with me on the train on the way into work to write down my thoughts about Sunday and the whole Passing Strange experience overall. I ended up with 21 handwritten pages. Granted I have gigantic handwriting, especially when I'm on a shaky train. I'm going to attempt to transcribe my scribbling and get it posted ASAP.

Mikem, all you said and more.
1. Kate and Lucy, and Gregj63 in the front row!
2. Colman, directly doing his scene to them!
3. The girls hugging all the actors at the stage door! I cried.
4. Almost getting knocked to the ground from Stew running up
behind me during KEYS.
5. Spike's crew almost forgeting to do their camerwork because
they were so caught up in the show!
6. Spike yelling "GET UP GET UP, on Stew's upbeat!
7. Mr. Schoenfeld, and ALL the producers, rocking out (in the
back!)
8. Frogs_ you were holding Annie's champagne??
8. All the SHY people gettin' up to boogie!
9. Marian Seldes , in the house AGAIN!!! (Ck out her IBDB -
probably the most accomplished actor in show biz)

At the stagedoor, she was surprised people wanted her autograph so she was struggling to hold things, so I held the cup for her and she even told me to take a few sips if I wanted. It was insanity out there.

frogs, that was amazing, the expression of the inspiration this show has given you is something I'm not quite sure how I would have put into words, but you did a great job, thank you for that.

Anyone else feel melancholy today, knowing there was no show tonight?
I walked by the theater Monday night around 9:30, since I had gone to see [title of show] on the next block. Camera trucks were outside, marquee still lit, catering set up, and I knew the cast was still inside filming. But today they must have started dissembling the light wall, getting ready for the next show to come in a few weeks from now.
I'll stop here, because the other stuff I've tried to write seems self-indulgent and silly, but I will miss this show, the fans, and the group of people who put this work of art together. Never felt that about a show before.

Gregj - I know what you mean, it's sort of melancholy indeed, and we are just the audience!? Can you imagine the cast and crew?
I worked today, did errands, visited the coffee shop, etc., but it's ALL so much still in our hearts and souls. Trying to explain the "frenzy" to friends and aquaintances yesterday and today seemed "odd". They have NO IDEA, right?
The most incredible theatrical experience we'll probably ever have.
Even the outrageously great rock shows of my college days ( circa early 70s) the Nassau Coliseum, Madison Square Garden, etc. in the good old days, seem dimmer.
It's not over yet, though. SPIKE LEE! Yay!
As they say, tbc, to be continued.......

Tiny, when you mentioned "Spike yelling "GET UP GET UP, on Stew's upbeat!," when did that happen? At the beginning of the show or during Keys? And who was he yelling to -- the audience or his crew?
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"

Mike - he was standing next to the last row, left orch, leaning against the column, shouting GET UP, GET UP (to the universe at large!?), in counterpoint to Stew during the CRAZY part of Keys/It's All Right...then everyone else (in the aud) starting doing their own musical riffs!
We that were there will NEVER forget that day!!
It hasn't left my system yet, I'm working on my own piano (PS) thing right now.....

Ok Frogs, I finally got to read your thoughts on Sunday's show and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience. It's so great to hear about the many ways this show has touched people and made an impact on their lives... I know it's been a gift to me and connected with me in so many ways.
Right now I have the recording on in the car (and I must say it is a great behind the wheel rock out score). There are so many lyrics, words, and scenes that remind me of the beauty of the piece and the genius that is Stew, Heidi, Annie Dorsen and the rest of the cast and crew!

Oh man, I try to listen to it in my room and it's never as fantastic as it sounds in my car. Perfect driving music.

Lavieboheme, that is one of my favorite lines in the show. . . all of the promise and potential of youth crystallized in just a few words.
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"
