"Any news on what's happening with the movie?"
This is only word of (Heidi's) mouth but apparently there may be some sort of NY premiere in the future...when, I have no idea. I can only hope it's soon!
Have fun at the concert :)

It was a really great concert and the space is vastly improved. Only two numbers from PS -- a mash-up of Come Down Now/Mom Song and an accelerated version on Keys.
Surprise that Coleman and Chad were not there....unclear as to why. The ladies made for great back up and the rest of the PS band was there with additional keyboards, percussion and "The Horn Problem" and ETHEL.
New song called Flatbush Avenue on Sunday...rest were Stew/TNP Standards...not all that different from the first part of the concert in Central Park.

I enjoyed the show too, Stew was very funny, band was great with the horn and string sections filling it out, and Eisa, De'Adre, and Rebecca singing backup were fabulous. The cast hinted afterwards that we will be seeing the film in NYC very soon. Great evening, and I think even the subscription audience who'd never heard of Stew or seen PS enjoyed the music.

The makeup of the audience was not what I was expecting at all and then I remembered that this was probably a subscription show. I had a great time and was really happy that a set list was handed out by the ushers after the show. I just want to know why Stew really truncated "Keys" during the encore. I was envisioning another iteration of closing night, but alas it was not to be.
Having ETHEL (which Annie Dorsen directed at BAM last fall in Truckstop) and The Horn Problem with the rest of the band gave them a lot of room to work with the arrangements and everything worked really well.

was a good show, kinda short and hoped for more Heidi but good overall, on a side note does anyone know how to track an audio file into the separate songs of the evening?

I was going to e-mail the guy at the Times who reviewed the concert to tell him that Stew lives in Germany, not NY, but I think Stew has taken care of that duty for me.

Did Tribeca announce their complete schedule? Because I can only find some of the films listed on the website, didn't look like a complete schedule to me. Still holding out hope...

If you go to search.twitter.com and enter Passing Strange, you'll see a bunch of raves about the movie shown at SXSW in Austin last night.

Just talked to my brother, who saw the movie in Austin last night, and confirms that Spike Lee said the movie will be in limited theatrical release in "July or August". Seems like a long time away to me.

Great to hear that it is going to get a theatrical release. I was worried it might go straight to HBO or something where it would not have the same grand effect that it did on stage.

Hey Frogs_!
Great news! Thanks for bringin' back the PS Love Thread... Any way we Scaryotypes could get tix to the Tribeca thing? The link didn't work for me just now. Party time, either May or the summer - the more people, the better. Yay!
