Cool, thanks! I think that might just be estimating, and hopefully not slow progress, because I know it was $80,000 that was said during the Sun matinee speech too...
I lucked out and got a ticket last night and the lottery crowd was quite large. So I can imagine Saturday night will be crazy. As far as collecting, they said they were nearing 90k but the special silent auction was up to 7700, so was not sure if that was included in the mix. Sounds like they are close. Don't forget to go online if you can't get to the theater and support the show on bcefa.org. Go to the Events section and click on the Bonnet link.
Audience was a bit slow warming up, but soon they were laughing and cheering like mad and gave an instant S.O. at curtain. Andrea had a bit of trouble calming down the house to make the speech!
(Still puzzled why there were a bunch of back orchestra seats vacant.)
Wife was there as well last night, Singing. Said the same thing about the crowd, but that the show was incredible ! (as usual!)
Btw, last time I was there, the guy at the merchandise table (when you walk in) recognized me, and said "hi"- He asked if I was "Testing", and said that he reads the boards. Said he met you as well. :)) (mentioned your SN)
Told him show is developing a slew of "repeaters" !!
Yes he's really sweet, shame he's not single I had seen him the times I used to go, and I just thought he was being friendly, but he recognized me from here. Fun.
singing back up I was there lottoing last night for my friends I think I saw you?~ twas big but I won for them so hopefully I can win for me and my mom
Went to Heights again tonight, full cast, great as always. Andrea did the BC/EFA speech again, probably verbatim as the last time I was there and heard her do it, but I really didn't care as she's just that awesome and it was still just as funny the second go round. According to her speech they were at $95,000, which means they are totally going to break their goal of $96,000... Did my part by finally picking up my window card!
Maybe this is a question better suited to the BC thread, but I was just curious: is it decided ahead of time the schedule of which cast members do the speech which week(s), or like do they do things like track on which nights whose speech gets more money into the buckets, and so they have that person do the speech more? Not just Heights/Andrea specific, it was just a general curiosity I had tonight; figured someone here might know.
I finally saw ITH yesterday and I LOVED it! It was so moving - especially the ending. And I really felt for the entire neighborhood when Abuela died. I think her character - and the way that the neighborhood viewed her - was really well developed. Which, in turn, led to a very emotional scene when they're all singing after they found out that she died. Lin during that scene was especially moving.
I'm having serious withdrawal. I want to lotto again (and actually win this time).

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
also suffering from withdrawal... will be going back this summer but I wish I didn't live upstate so I could just go and play the lotto...
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!"
-Kermit the frog"I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P."Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu""...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu
After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
I didn't preorder the cd. I'm a bad fan, I know. Too expensive for me. I'd rather wait and buy it cheaper at Virgin, or something. But I'll ask my friends who buy it earlier to hook me up, so I can at least listen to the tracks.
Fantastic. I'm going on Tuesday. By myself, cause my bf and all my friends are working/have class. But I decided to skip a lecture. The show's always fun, and it's a good way to contribute to a great cause. I can't wait to see what ITH came up with this year. From what I've heard, it's going to be amazing.
I'll be around the cheapish area. Anyone who recognizes me, say hi. I'm awful at recognizing people.
