Its the one that opens up and shows the picture of the cast on the inside... The front has Seth, with the "ITH" logo on top, and "The Best Musical Of the Year!" written on the bottom
The "cut-out" is a pic of the bldgs and the bridge.
I will be by the visitors center later on today--- if they have more, I will pick some up to mail out to you guys.
Okay so me and my best friends are planning to go see the show this summer and I have kinda a weird question... There has been talk about Robin being in the Godspell revival and I was wondering how long people think he's going to stay in ITH? He was one of my favorite parts about the show and I would love for my friend to see his performance! Thanks y'all!

-Kermit the frog"I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P."Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu""...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu

I second acted the show tonight (it's what all cool New Yorkers do). And I have to say, I didn't mind the loss of "show some f*cking spirit!" as much as I thought I would. The line still works. It's a compromise I can live it. So, I'm relieved :)
I also picked up a program. It's lovely. Updated On: 4/20/08 at 11:41 PM
fyi in addition to Andréa Burns, this week at Don't Quit Your Night Job:
FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME (Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bill Sherman, Thomas Kale and Shockwave) have just been added as musical guests!
Get your tickets now!!!
Can not wait for Thursday night!!
ps: lost the lotto tonight, again, and post-lotto they were selling rear orch seats for the $31.50 rear mezz price. I think that's the first time I've seen discounts offered at Heights post-lotto.
1. HEIGHTS IS NOW SELLING PROGRAMS!! Sorry if this is not news, but I hadn't seen mention of programs on here yet, I don't think, (they're $15) and I know they weren't there the last time I was at the show eight days ago (don't judge).
2. Celeb sighting: Glenn Close was at the matinee today.
3. Andréa Burns, who continues to be my new favorite person *ever,* did the BC/EFA curtain speech at the matinee today (with cameo appearance by Janet Dacal doing her "what would Jesus do?" line, lol). And it was rather brilliant: "We are in a competition with every other Broadway show. And you know me, I don't like to talk about nobody, but obviously we would like to *win* that competition..." Hee. They had the usual posters for $100, Playbills for $40, and they're also doing a silent auction of an opening night painting by Todd DiCiurcio that the cast received that has been matted, framed and signed, and the auction is now at $7,500 for that item. And Heights' goal is to collect at least $96,000 total, and they're already at $80,000.
4. And so apparently the 'official' reason that the f-bombs were removed from the show is that groups wouldn't book Heights because of the three uses of f*ck ("____ the bling," "show some ____in spirit," and a use during Blackout). Sh*t and coño and cabron and whatnot are all ok for groups, those are staying, but just not the f word. Updated On: 4/20/08 at 05:33 PM
I actually mentioned the program in my post last night. I didn't know they were new. I just happened to see them selling them, so I got one. They're really lovely.
Andrea did that exact same speech last night. Word for word. But the artwork was at $4,000. So...damn, it went up $4,000 in one night? Sweet.
And, yes, that is the reason for the drop of the f word from the show. I still find it hilarious that schoolteachers don't care about "sh*it", or coño, carajo and cabrona. But the f word is where they draw the line. I didn't really mind the substitution of "freaking". So if it'll get more school groups to see the show, then I'm ok with it.
I still think they should do an adults only night, and just drop all sorts of curse words. WHAT UP.
I totally missed you mentioning the programs! I know I read your post, because I remember wondering what section you head to for empty seats with regards to the second acting, but I missed the programs part- I walked into the matinee today and got so excited by the programs it wasn't even funny.
I think the Heights yoga pants might also be new merch, but I don't really go for show clothing so I could have just not noticed them before.
I wonder what versions of the 'f word' songs are going to be on the cast recording.
I would be ok with Andrea doing the BC speech all the time, I love her. That artwork is pretty sweet, someday I'm gonna have $7,500 to spend on really cool fun stuff like that during BC time.
Actually, my method for second acting is to wait outside during intermission, keep an eye out for "walkouts", approach them, and ask for their tickets. Even the best shows always have at least one person walking out. And they're usually more than happy to hand over their tickets. At least that way, the ticket has already been paid for, so why not use it for the second act? It's a great method for us broke ass grad students.
I ended up with a great orchestra seat. Updated On: 4/20/08 at 09:22 PM
For those who weren't able to make it to Seth's 101 last week, here's video (not mine) of Andrea Burns and Andrea McArdle doing A Boy Like That/I Have A Love from West Side Story:
Just wondering, to anyone who has been to show in the past week or so...have there been many understudies on and if so for who? I am going this week, so I was just wondering.
I'm not going to expect that those will be the understudies on during this week, but just to get an idea beforehand on who has been out lately during the show.
Also, I am so excited to get the program, but does anyone know when those who pre-ordered the cast recording will get it or is it the same day as it comes out that we get it?
Thanks!
Come on babe we're gonna paint the town...and all that jazz...
"Sometime in May" is when those who pre-ordered will get the cast recording. No clue if they have a better idea of a date yet, but that was all they knew when I placed my pre-order last week.
testing, where did you get these? I'm in the city until tomorrow so i'd like to pick up a couple as well.

A couple of questions What's second acting? Also I'm going to try the Lottery for this Wednesday's Matinee I only need 2 tickets but I have 3 other people putting there names down with me, is there a good chance I'll win? How crowded has it been? Also have they been giving othr lotto discounts?
If I don't win and there are no discounts what other lotteries can I try after ITH?
Thanks

"No Day But Today"
- scroll up about five posts, BroadwayChica pretty much spelled out what it is and how to second act
- four names for two tickets are pretty good odds for a wed matinee lotto.
- after lotto on Saturday night they were selling $31.50 rear orch seats. That would be the first and only time I've heard that offer when I've been at Heights lotto.
- there are no lottos that draw names after Heights lotto is over
At this Performance! concert tonight was so much fun! I will talk more about everyone in the other thread about this show, but wanted to share for the Heights fans (for those who don't know, the setup is the u/s sings one song from his/her show, and then one song of his/her choosing):
Doreen Montalvo did "Paciencia y Fe" and it was omg amazing- j'adore Olga Merediz, but now I really *really* want to see Doreen go on as Abuela some night. Fierce. And then for her song of her choice she was saying how she was told to sing a pop song, in Spanish, wayback in 2002 when she was first auditioning for Heights, and she didn't know any, so she transcribed "Angel of the Morning" into Spanish, and that is what she sang. Totally gorgeous.
Krysta Rodriguez (who said how she's gone on three times already- I believe these were all three as Vanessa, right?) did "It Won't Be Long Now," and for her second song she did "Blue Hair," which was absolutely adorable, she acted the hell out of that number, as strange of a thing as it may be to say.
the FLS show was a ton of fun, though chris jackson was missed. Honestly although the whole thing was fabulous, and I may be a bit bias, but I think Lin was by far the best part.
My friend (who ushered in the heights at 37 arts) stayed after to talk to lin, he was very friendly as always.

The choosing was not...
