Saw the show for the 5th time on Broadway tonight (took me madre) and it was amazing as EVER. Full cast, full energy, full emotion, full amazingness.
Seriously, I cried a lot in act 2, and I mean you'd think I wouldn't since I already know what's going to happen.
My mom had seen it off broadway and liked it then, but she LOVED it tonight. And she actually really liked the book and kept commenting on how good the story was. And I agree with chica, to be the weakEST part of that show is really not saying much at all because everything else is beyond amazing, so it can still be REALLY GOOD. Also I introduced my mom to luis before the show, so she paid a lot of attention to the dancing and she thought it was brilliant which it is... Yeah she had NOTHING bad to say about the show, and I agree because it is SO [titleofshow] (hope enough of you get that haha)
yay in the heights!!!!!!
EDIT: funny sightings / overheards
so the people behind me before the show
kid: where is this located?
dad: puerto rico city
kid: what, isn't it in washington heights or somethign?
dad: yeah, the puerto rican heights
kid: where is that?
dad: It's up in the bronx
kid: are you sure?
Me (i cant help but interrupt w/ these things): It's at the end of manhattan, right before the bronx, see on the set it says 181st street
them: ooooh!
Also there was this woman (maybe in her 50s or 60s, a little stocky) sitting in the box seats who kept fanning herself with her playbill during the ENTIRE show but she was enjoying it, it seemed, and laughing at everything.
And finally my friend was sitting in lotto seats and she said the woman behind her or next to her like FREAKED out during the blackout scene and was like, "wait! what happened? but the stage lights are on? so it couldn't have been a fuse! what happened?" but then whe she hear "que passo" etc. was like "ooooh its part of the show."
gosh, i love people.
PS chica, i think im the opposite of you, i would be VERY upset if PS wins (and im scared it will) but would be very cool with Xanadu winning (despite my dislike for the whole cubby bernsteine campaign) though i'm praying for ITH... it REALLY deserves the award!
