I'll be at the Saturday matinee. I'm not a big fan of the Lippa score, but I'm very excited to see Sutton Foster, Steven Pasquale, Miriam Shor, Brandon Victor Dixon, etc. I got Center Orchestra Row BB seats through the Peer to Peer program, so how bad could it be?

Also going tomorrow! I've never seen either version of The Wild Party, so I'm intrigued by it, and especially excited to hear Steven Pasquale, who I adore on the Bridges of Madison County OBCR.

I'm also going to Saturday matinee. Been listening to/watching lots of clips on YouTube because I was unfamiliar with the score. Not crazy about it, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. Apparently some changes have been made for this production.

I'm seeing this tomorrow night -- can't wait! Flew to Chicago just to see Pasquale in Carousel (so worth the trip- as was Laura Osnes), so am excited to see him again tomorrow.

A friend saw the dress and said the voices were awesome.

Did they mention anything else about it? I'm particularly interested in how the choreography was. I love Sonya Tayeh's work in general, and I'm curious to see what she does with this.

I am going to see it tomorrow so I will let you know. She said the style was similar to Chicago. She said there were some sound/interference issues but those sorts of things usually get worked out for opening.

It looks like the Saturday matinee is the only performance that isn't sold out. Anyone who's still interested better grab tickets before they're all gone.

This prod. is pretty Thrilling (w/a capital "T"!) Could maybe have been better w/o an intermission because the end of Act 1 is kinda hard to rise back up to again. Such an interesting work! Score, direction, choreography, cast, costumes, settings, lighting, band - all A1. This prod. so fits the summer Encores name 'Off-Center."
"A pervasive air of connoisseur's passion...as long as the city can deliver the occasional night like this, NYC really is the capital of the universe for hard-core theater lovers." -NY Times review of 'Little Shop'

I can't make it but so wish that I could. Can someone please record it strictly for research purposes? :)

Assuming by tomorrow you mean tonight, I'll be there as well. :)
The email I got to remind me about the tickets said the running time is about two hours.

Did you just publicly ask for someone on this board to illegally record a show? You have absolutely no shame.

No doubt about that! If Encores wants to only have these incredible shows for 3 days in the middle of the summer, then I only think it's fair that those that cannot attend should be able to enjoy it in some capacity. They haven't even posted their 2 minute video clip like they did with A New Brain. Rude!

Agree about the sound issues - but as this was their 3rd day in the theater so I am not surprised. I hope they have a chance to balance out the band a bit more as it overpowers the voices in a lot of places.
Also need to work on balancing vocals when the four leads are singing as you can't hear everyone clearly.
Otherwise it was a great night and they are doing a fantastic job! So glad I got to see it!!

Theatre Mania just posted a montage - I am excited to see Steven Pasquale more than anything else. Can't wait for Saturday.

Thanks for posting that! This just affirms my original thought. Steven is the main reason to see this, although he did seem to lack a little of the crazy that BDJ had. Sutton seems a tad miscast. And everyone else seems to be way oversinging. (I realize the songs lend itself to that)
