In today's episode of the world has gone mad and we are living in the upsidedown, the opening song for Act 2 in @mincemeatbway, the cast sings a hilarious uptempo song making fun of NOzi soldiers dressed in uniform and singing in a German accent. Directly following, an actor came onstage & calls out the audience for applauding for them with a deadpan "whose side are you on?" which of course gets a laugh because what hateful, useful idiot would be on the side of Nazis and also at a Broadway show in NYC?

Then a man to my right shouts out at the top of his lungs

"HEIL H"TLER" and legit wasn't joking.

I then had to spend the whole second act sitting in next to an actual NOzi. So no, I didn't enjoy the show. Luckily I was able to witness the absolute genius of @jakmalone_ before the whole thing was spoiled. Just WOW. All around."

So nobody addressed it? Actors or theater staff? I would’ve gotten up and left.

I would have left too.

My daughter and I were there too and didn't hear anything in the orchestra. Did you report it to house staff? If the person stayed for the rest of the show (which is obviously anti-Nazi), I wonder if they were just some idiot who thought he was being funny. In this time of such hatred and anti-semitism my daughter and I would have been incredibly disturbed by this as well. I'm so sorry you had to deal with this.

Obviously there are people who feel this way in our country but I have a hard time believing they would be buying tickets to Operation Mincemeat on Broadway. I think the most likely explanation is a tone deaf person who was trying to be (and failing at) being funny.

I find the number to be particularly void of any humor or anything discernibly interesting to say. I’m sure there are way more responses like this to that Act 2 opener than are posted about on social media. This just kind of feels like the general state of the world now and not a particularly noteworthy interaction when the song already implores you to applaud for the Nazi’s and then rehearses a canned “really?”

I too am inclined to think this was far more likely to be the work of some drunken tool than an IRL Nazi. I'm glad the performers didn't acknowledge it, even if house staff should have. Don't give these fvckers any oxygen.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

Several people have commented on Reddit that they were also at this same performance and the alleged “incident” didn’t happen. People sitting in the mezz and orchestra all did not hear it. There were also comments that the person who wrote this story is questionable.

So unless there is a confirmation from a second party, I’m gonna go with bull**** for clicks.

There also has been no mention on the show's social media - if something as disruptive and despicable as that had happened, I imagine someone from the show would address it.

They reposted the story earlier but have seemingly deleted.

Yeah, I saved a screenshot last night from the official account's Stories. It was too much text to read in 10 seconds. (Should have been a post, not a story for starters.) Some people on Reddit seem to be hinting this is not a trustworthy person, though I don't know anything about her.

Um, was the OP just scrolling through IG and posted this sh*t without verifying it? I was with a large party in the front Orchestra. No one heard anything like that. We all collectively yelled at the dummy who couldn't figure out how to turn her phone off at the beginning, but that was about it in terms of drama. That song is a f*cking banger but some people will always question if applause is correct or not, but Zoë calling us out is always the best part.
