Times Square Partial Power Outage

Currently in the theatre district, and it looks like over half of the area is without power tonight around 7:30pm. Im curious to see if any shows will cancel or just postpone if the power doesnt return.

Here in Hell’s Kitchen, we ZERO power anywhere. It’s a sh*tshow outside. This is crazy.

My friend and I are outside Oklahoma! waiting to get in. It has been affected.

In line to pick up lotto tickets for Tootsie... we’ve been here for about twenty minutes and they are just trying to keep the crowd informed. (And doing a great job!) Emergency lights are on but all the marquees around us are out. A little eerie.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it would Equity’s call to make regarding cancellation, no? Or at least a factor?

Just search Twitter for #BroadwayBlackout to find out which shows are affected. So far: Oklahoma, Tootsie, Frozen, Book of Mormon, Wicked, The Cher Show, Phantom, Hadestown, anything on 45th Street.

To have this happen 30 minutes before curtain makes it tough for theaters. I doubt any wait past 8:30 before cancelling.

For sure. If shows run past 11pm, they owe everyone overtime pay, which is insanely expensive. I think a lot of decisions will be made in the next 15 minutes.
