I would deal with the theatre box office first, in dealing with your exchange, especially since you had premium seats. They might be more understanding. If that flutters out, then deal with Telecharge, (unless you are specifically being told you HAVE to go through them)."

I called Telecharge and they told me I could email their managers and they would talk to the producers and see what they could do. But maybe I should go straight to the box office.

At most. you are entitled to a refund of your ticket. Once received, you have been made whole. Unfortunately, you are not entitled to less expensive tickets, and the box office might not have the authority to discount the tickets.

Yeah I doubt they'll give me those same seats for the price I paid back in April, but it doesn't hurt to try

This happened to me last summer with Moulin Rouge in Boston. A perforamnce was cancelled and the seats we had were about $50 more than we had paid. The theatre honored the seats and sat us as close to the original (admittedly better) seats we had purchased. It was my opinion at the time that they were going above and beyond to do the best they could yo keep people whole.

On another note, imagine the people who paid huge premiums on Stub Hub for Moulin Rouge or Hamilton or TKAM? I had friends who so wanted to see TKAM that they paid over $600 a ticket for the show, and cut back on theatergoing for quite a while to offset the price they paid. If that was their performance, they would have been devastated, in response to a prior post."

Who did you speak to? I talked to Telecharge and am waiting to hear back from a manager. I called the box office too, but no one answered so I left a message.

StubHub refunds the money if a show gets canceled

I'm sure that the power grid, like everything else in NYC, is a weird, complicated mess of patchwork that makes no sense. Looking at the outage maps on Saturday I was seeing some buildings as far south as 34th that were being affected, and did see inconsistent reports regarding how far east it was affecting areas as well. Even the fact that supposedly Stage 42 still had power (I saw people claiming Fiddler was still running that night), but Signature did lose power, as I know several friends either involved in or seeing a NYMF show that night.

Stage 42 did indeed have power. 42nd street had power on 8th, 9th and 10th Avenue. Signature Theater didn’t, but CVS right across the street from it had power.

The movie theaters on 42nd street were both open.

schubox said: "So update, I called the CITS box office yesterday and left a message and they called me back. I talked to a woman named Mandy who said she was the treasurer. She was amazingly nice and helpful. She refunded my money from the canceled performance and allowed me to get my tickets (actually one seat over as one of the ones I bought was already purchased) for the price I paid back in April. She also refunded my Telecharge service fee so I actually got them for $30 cheaper. So thanks for the suggestion to call the box office. And thanks to CITS for being awesome in the customer service department."

Glad to hear that it worked out, (since I made the suggestion). It just shows that if you don't ask, then nothing is going to happen. Not only did you get what you had hoped, you saved $30.
