Tom Hewitt guest starred on All My Children yesterday as a lawyer. I think he will prolly also be on today. I feel bad for him. He must be desperate for work. I hope he gets cast in another show soon...and one that is not a flop.
Doing a few days work on a soap if you live in NYC is a wonderful gig, you can jump on the subway, do a few scenes and return home, I don't see the flaws in that at all.
Hey at least he is working. As a struggling acting Camel myself I always say any paycheck is a good paycheck. That said I hope he gets a new show soon, he is a very talented man.
Love Always,
Humpers the Camel
And don't forget that shows like "All My Children" are seen all around the world, which (rather sadly) will give Mr. Hewitt a MUCH higher recognition factor than he could ever achieve performing onstage in New York.
I watch it, so I was excited to see him on the show. I just know that the general population views being on a soap opera as comparable to being in a B or C movie. Still, I hope he goes on broadway again soon. He was excellent in Dracula...even though the show itself wasn't that great.

Tom Hewitt is a great actor. Just because he has appeared on a soap doesn't mean he is any less of an actor. The truth is, it's hard finding a good show to be a part of on Broadway.
Being on a soap means you're desperate for work? Hardly.
And let's not forget that Tonya Pinkins is a regular on All My Children. She was even taping that during the day while doing Caroline on Broadway at night. (The same way Kathy Brier was doing Hairspray and One Life to Live at the same time.)
Other notable Broadway folks have done stints on All My Children as well. Terrence Mann and Ellen Greene are just a couple that come to mind right off the bat.
Yes...after I saw Caroline or Change, I told Tonya that I loved her on AMC and I also saw Hairspray just so I could see Kathy Brier in the role.
Hewitt was quite underrated for his performance in Dracula. I thought he was the only good thing about that show.
Kathy Brier was also on a soap opera-I think "One Life To Live"-while doing HAIRSPRAY.
I myself am a GUIDING LIGHT man.
melissa errico fan, CBS soaps are the only way to go :)
Playing Babe Chandler's lawyer on the AMC/ OLTL crossover story.
I loved Tom Hewitt in Dracula and hope he comes back to Broadway soon. It is a shame the play was not more of a hit. I loved it!!!!!!! Honey, he can bite my neck anytime. The man is gorgeous. I got his autograph and I was real close.
TV credits, especially extended stints with soaps are very lucretive and amazing exposure. So many Bd'w actors have soap credits.
Tom Hewitt will not have to worry about his future on stage. He's assuredly on "the" list of first choices.
He's also paid his dues. He caught my attention as far back as "The Sisters Rosensweig", "Beau Jest" and "Jeffrey".
Tom Hewitt is an incredible actor and man.
