Someone on Facebook argued against it because "It isn't on Broadway".
The Tonys haven't been held on Broadway since 1999 at the Gershwin...

^ Oy. At least that's a Broadway house! (As compared to RCMH)

The Koch is no more a Broadway theatre than RCMH.
Why not the Richard Rodgers Theater.
Too small.
Why not at the MET? It's a huge theater, and that's where they use to do the MTV video awards.
With all of these suggestions, it is important to remember that the venue has to be available both physically and schedule-wise. A booked venue is not going to cancel performances and many/most shows have sets that are inconsistent with the production values of the Tonys in this century.
I think Lincoln Center would be a lovely idea, seeing as how Lincoln Center is the symbol of performing arts in New York City.

Isn't the ballet at the Met in June? I had read when the Met had the Music Awards, it disrupted a lot of rehearsal time for the opera.
Would love to see it at the Kings. It is the most photogenic of the theaters being discussed. It has a huge stage plus the seating is about 3,300 or so. The sightlines are great . The acoustics likewise. It would be a blockbuster to see on tv. It now has state of the art stage facilities .
City Center, I feel, frankly lacks the glamour of even a Broadway theatre.

Did I miss the reason they can't use the Beacon again? Lincoln Center is a good idea though.
The Kings Theatre is lovely, but would provide a logistical nightmare in terms of planning rehearsals. Casts are usually bussed to the venue after getting into costume at their own theatre. And often on a show day. Traveling into Brooklyn would present lots of scheduling problems.

While the most photogenic, it would be a logistical nightmare. Nominees barely have time to get ready after their Sunday matinees to make it over to Radio City for the red carpet and pre-show stuff. Getting into Brooklyn would be quite the time crunch. Plus, normally the shows that perform on the awards bus their cast back and forth from their respective theatres to the Tony venue. That would be far less feasible if the trip is to a different boro rather than a few blocks away. Lincoln Center makes the most sense to me.
ETA: It seems as though the poster above and I had the same thought at almost the same time. Funny.

I agree with Roxy but it would be a logistical nightmare traveling to Brooklyn for this event so doubtful it will happen. I saw Diana Ross there
and the Kings Theatre is stunning!
Well they should treat tony day as a holiday and add an extra show to Monday that week.
