Hi,
I was wondering when/what performances is Tony back in for in TBV. Also, if anyone knows if it's harder to get tickets on those performances, that would be great.

I’m not sure exactly when, but I think he returns to the show in May. I hope his schedule is announced soon!!

I'm also interested in seeing Tony, hope they announce soon. I don't think tickets will be much harder to get than a regular night because they aren't really marketing him, and it doesn't seem many are that upset he isn't in right now anyways.
Sounds like he is already back in the show on occasion, but no official schedule.

Oops, my bad, I assumed this stage door whinge was recent, but it is just someone dredging up some old invented drama...

Yeah, I understand. I don't think he's in it right now at all, but if they stick to what they said I'm sure he'll return for some performances next month. Either way I hear the show is excellent, and everyone functions as an ensemble so well, he'll just be a plus!

He was remarkable.
Mrs. Maisel will be filming well into June. I don’t think the date was ver announced, but Sasson Gabai (who played Tewfiq in the film) is said to be joining sometime over the summer.
Sad that this might hurt his chances of winning the Tony. He was my favorite lead male performance of the year.

Dariush Kashani, who is also excellent. I think his Tewfiq is a little stiffer than Shalhoub's, but his choices pay off just as well.
Shalhoub will return “to play select performances” beginning in May.

Isn’t the whole point of his returning for select performances in May presumably so that he can be seen by the Tony voters?
Yes, but I doubt they would vote for an actor who people won't be able to see after he wins the award. Then again, stranger things have happened.

But after the Tony Awards and Maisel wraps, he will be back in the show full time, no?

That is what I assumed, that he would be back when he is done filming. I don’t think anything was really announced either way. As I recall, the bit about Sasson Gabai was just a tweet and nothing concrete.
The article in Playbill announcing his hiatus only said: "Shalhoub... will return to the Ethel Barrymore stage in May for select performances, then sharing the role with Kashani as he wraps production on the Amazon series." Not seeing anything announced as far as what happens after the series wraps.
Then why did you ask about him returning full time if you already knew he would be around for select performances?

The show was shooting in France. That is why he had to leave. Now he's back but is only going to be in select performances for the future. I think that is what it means.
Telecharge:
*Dariush Kashani is taking over the lead role of Tewfiq in The Band’s Visit as Tony Shalhoub steps away to shoot a television show. Kashani will start in the role on March 1, as Shalhoub is leaving to film the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Shalhoub will return “to play select performances” beginning in May.

Because they are two separate things? If he is going to be in select performance while shooting the series, that begs the question of what happens after the series wraps for the season. Not for me personally, I saw him in it, and it's not a show I see myself repeating again and again.

He is most likely returning so Tony voter and see the original cast (and increase his own Tony chances). I would assume tickets could be hard to get for these performances due to holding back lots of prime seats for the Tony voters and their guests.
I don't think he will come back to the role full time. Since he was the least interesting person in the show for me, I don't care if he's in it or not. Would be shocked if he got a nomination.

Why? Do you only foresee 2-3 nominees or do you think Margaritaville is going to take his nomination?
