He didn’t really have issues, he just seemed a bit hoarse and his voice cracked a couple times

Ended up having the night unexpectedly free and grabbed some last minute row AA tickets off stubhub for half face. Was amazing so close. What a wonderful show "

I’m in the exact same row next week. How was the stage height? Being approx. 5’10” tall I don’t it’llbe an issue. I’m five seats in from the House-right aisle.
Any what kind of souvenirs did they have? I’ve already bought my window card from Triton Gallery.Anything else interesting? Did they have a souvenir show program book? Thanks for any help!

I’m 6’2” and didn’t have any issues. My gf is 5’2” and she was fine too. The stage height isn’t too bad. You’re obviously really close, but it was great to see everything so close.
They have fairly normal souvenirs. T-shirt’s, magnets, etc. They also sell a conductor baton

Sounds like a great seat then! I’ve never had a seat that was this close to a performance. Looking forward to the show! :)

Is tomorrow Shalhoub’s last performance or did he extend?
I don't think it's his last show, but no one seems to know anything beyond May regarding his schedule. The person at Telecharge had no information for me.
Tomorrow is definitely his last show. Confirmed by multiple cast members.
Oh wow, you think they would have announced that, as they usually do when a cast member is leaving.
His name isn’t above the title. They’ve been extremely mum when it’s come to his absences thus far (planned or unplanned) so I’m not surprised.
Will Roland and Mike Faist's names were never above the title. They announced their departure months ago. Since Tony is the "lead", you think they would have. I don't really care, he was the weakest thing in The Band's Visit for me. Just interesting they never announced anything.

I saw the show tonight and it was amazing! Tony Shalhoub was brilliant, and so was Katrina Lenk and the ensemble. There were no problems with his voice at all, and the whole show was very powerful. Tonight at the stage door for anyone who's curious, everyone pretty much came out and signed/pictures except for Katrina and Tony.

pretty disappointed behind the lack of transparency with whatever is going on here, really was hoping to see Tony
Hmm... maybe I'll try rush tomorrow. Anyone know how early it's been?

Same - I really enjoy his work and was hoping to see him in a couple of weeks. Shouldn’t have assumed he had a one year contract (or even a 6). I wish they hadn’t used the term “hiatus” in all the press releases - at least I would have known back in February that he wouldn’t be in in June. Oh well. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it nonetheless!
So from what I am reading here, the chances of Tony being in the show this weekend is slim to none? I was looking forward to seeing the show for the first time before the Tonys, but now I'm kinda bummed he won't be there

Wow, what a bummer. I had no idea about this. I have tickets for next Friday and suddenly I’m a little less excited about the show.
Saw it on Tuesday evening. Mr. Kashani is wonderful. I especially enjoyed the conducting scene on the bench. I saw Mr. Shalloub also. Both good. JMO

Tony Shalhoub is great in the show but I wouldn't be too disheartened. It's not a larger than life role that calls for a star turn. It simply requires honest and emotionally sensitive acting. I bet the actor you see will deliver exactly what is needed. And you will be among the few who get to see this alternate take on the role. I hope you enjoy it.

I can totally understand how you might feel right now. But having seen Shaloub in the role, as good as he was in it, this is a true ensemble cast, with Katrina Lenk's amazing Dina as the ostensible protagonist. Tewfiq is a pretty small role for one considered a "lead" and I am very confident that Dariush Kashani is just as good.

I’m sure I’ll enjoy it, just a bit bummed, moreso for my wife. She loves Tony Shalhoub and we haven’t seen him on stage since Lend Me A Tenor. I think I’ll feel worse if he gets the Tony.
I think that's unlikely.
I loved him in the role, and am sorry that others won't be able to enjoy his performance.

I’m still holding out hope he’ll make a surprise appearance at the first performance after the Tonys when I have tickets. Probably silly of me but maybe?!??
Telecharge no longer has him listed as a cast member, so it's safe to assume that last Sunday was his last day.

For what it’s worth, when I rushed on Sunday, the person at the box office mentioned that it was Tony’s final performance as well.
It’s ShalHoub. Y’all need to start spelling his name with the same conviction as Benanti and LaChanze. This is ridiculous.
