What a total snooze. The songs are ALL awful. The plot is a big who-cares. The performances are adequate. It really feels pointless.

On the one hand it's enjoyable... on the other hand, it's..... um...... this is Broadway?

This would have been more exciting 5 or 7 years ago, to have Katy Perry. Now it feels a little desperate.

Saw the matinee yesterday. Really lovely, more of a mood piece than a proper musical. Some amazing directorial moments. Even better was Katharine Mehrling at Joe's Pub a few hours later. Somehow, they were perfect companion pieces. Mehrling's show opened with a haunting version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" sung in German, and it made me think of Dylan's "I Want You" which I'd heard just a few hours earlier at the Newman.

We saw Girl from the North Country matinee and Katharine Mehrling in the evening, so a full day at The Public. Katharine Mehrling blew me away in Berlin and she was equally exciting in her NY debut. She received at least three standing ovations, something I've never seen at The Pub. Loved the Dietrich and the perfect Piaf, but my favorite addition had to be a medley that began, surprisingly, with Like a Virgin, continued with unexpected interpretations of Madonna songs, and then climaxed with...

Saw her concert last year while visiting Berlin. She was incredible. Great voice, lots of charm.

I saw this a few weeks ago. Let's face it, it's not thaaaat good.

Saw the show last week and it's in phenomenal shape. It was practically all adults in the orchestra, which was interesting. The second act in particular is very moving in this version.

This show really depressed me. The book is often funny, but that score! It's so mediocre! I also find it disappointing that Tina Fey, who I worship, seems to be going way overboard in her quest to grab her Tony. Tina, calm down... you're a big star and you're going to get it!

The cast hits it out of the park in this one; some (way) more than others, but some incredible moments. I've never liked this play, and I still don't. But if you're going to revive it, this is a nice and often very funny production.

The thing is, does anyone like Lea Michele?

Does it include non-Meatloaf songs written by Steinem? Like "Total Eclipse of the Heart"?

I was so excited to hear about this and bought tix for NY but these reviews - and the press reviews - have me worried.
