I am very familiar with Tracy Letts. I was not aware of someone named Tracey Lets.

Seriously, you're starting a thread specifically about someone. How goddamn hard is it to take 30 seconds to make sure you are spelling their name correctly and he/she couldn't spell either name correctly. That's just lazy and disrespectful.

I am going to be snagging a rush ticket for The Minutes when it's at Steppenwolf. Can't wait! They have quite a few shows of interest coming in.

Is this still coming to Broadway?

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Not sure what the status of the transfer to Broadway is, but I actually have tickets to see this twice at Steppenwolf and am really looking forward to it. I greatly enjoyed both "Mary Page Marlowe" and "Linda Vista."

I didn't know Steppenwolf offered rush! Is it in person only, or online too? I'm trying to look ahead to next year when my RED card will expire and I have to find alternative means of getting discounted tix.

I see your point, but I think there are more polite ways to make it. However, the very same thing applies to my response to you, so I owe you an apology for that.

After "Mary Jane," Carrie Coon brought up that "The Minutes" is still planning on coming to Broadway this season.

Saw this show last night and enjoyed it very much. It speaks to several aspects of political reality, both including and removed from our current moment. My only criticism on this front without giving much away is that for me it implies two black and white ways forward from the central conflict. True and realistic as these extremes may be, the play leaves us with little nuance or ambiguity.

It’s bitingly funny (both sides of the political aisle will find something to laugh at) and then packs a big punch, transitioning from high realism (there’s a feature in the program by scenic designer David Zinn about the realism of his set design) to the abstract performative very quickly. The transition is jarring and, according to a lady waiting behind me at the cafe next door, “problematic.” My first thought wasn’t “problematic” but rather, “Well, this is startling.” I think the the problematic is precisely Letts’s point.

At any rate, they’re still in previews, but the show is in great shape. Great performances all around. Some of the expositional dialogue is a bit awkward, but the text and performances will become sharper. Mr. Letts was in the house speaking to folks with clipboards as we exited, so it’s good to know he’s involved in the tweaking process.

If this transfers to Broadway, I’d predict a positive reception and solid ticket sales with Letts’s name recognition and the continued involvement of CSI’s William Petersen, who plays the role of Mayor Superba quite well. I could see Tony noms for Play, Scenic Design, and some performance nods would certainly be deserved.

No, but she’s married to Tracy Letts, so she would know.

I just wish that the OP would edit the subject line at this point. Not too much to ask, is it?

The Minutes is supposed to begin Broadway previews on February 6, 2018. That's less than three months away, though, and they still haven't announced a theatre. Methinks this has fallen through (at least for this season).

Since the show is set up on Telecharge, that eliminates any of the Nederlander and Jujamcyn houses from contention, even though the Nederlander is the only theatre currently without a tenant. So either they're waiting on a closing announcement from a show running now (The Play That Goes Wrong?), though that would be cutting things really close for pre-sales, or it's being delayed.

Sally Murphy, who's in this, was just announced as part of the cast of Admissions at Lincoln Center, which starts the same week as The Minutes is scheduled to begin previews. So either Murphy isn't continuing with the show -- which is certainly possible -- or the transfer is no longer going to happen within the previously announced timeframe.
