A bit sad to hear this, but I'm mostly cheered that it was able to last as long as it did. A thoroughly delightful show with an(outside of these boards) underrated-ly clever score. And hoo boy, those performances! And costumes! I'm so thankful to have experienced it and I wish everyone involved more successes in the future.
I hope to see it again before closing but I went to the first preview, which was exciting, so I am fine if I can't get back.

An extremely respectable run.
Longer than many of us thought possible.

Good point. I'm disappointed this show couldn't find an audience but it had a fine run. It's different from my disappointment with Great Comet or Shuffle Along or other shows I loved but where I understood the factors that made a longer run unsustainable. I'm still not quite sure why more people weren't interested in this show. Are the names Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein just not relevant anymore? I'm not sure what the difference is between a perfectly fine show with flaws that connects with people and a perfectly fine show with flaws that doesn't connect with people.

Wish I had gotten a chance to see this. I haven't listened to the music, but Grey Gardens is my favorite show and Christine and Patti are always spectacular.

I loved this production at The Goodman,, must now get to New York to see it before it closes. Two brilliant performances!,, When it closes, I hope Ms. LuPone gets to "steal" the portraits from " Forever Beautiful".
It will be a long long time before we have another "pink"-type moment on Broadway. Certainly not happening in that high school musical CFA or Groundhog Day (as much as I enjoyed it). This show was pure class and there was a great desk of professionalism going on here. I feel blessed to have seen it.

Patti has said she wants the charm bracelet she wears in the show. she said in an interview that all those portraits are of Helena, not herself, though they do look like her

I thought it was hilarious that she said that, because some of the pictures ARE of her. The Picasso is the original, but there's a video on War Paint's Instagram page that shows how they photoshopped Patti's face into some of the paintings. (Although that Picasso still looks like Patti.)

Lol. That's funny! Someone should tell Patti at the stage door and see how she reacts/ knows know. Lol

My thoughts exactly.
"Pink" will go down as one of the most amazing moments of Broadway I have witnessed. Seeing it front row with Christine standing right in front of me only a few feet away had me and my mother both teary. It was Soo amazing and it's a memory I'll cherish.
Such a great show and I will be going back to see these ladies.
Friends in from out of town and grabbed 3 tix Thursday night. I enjoyed it again and they *loved* it. Good, clean fun--better than I remembered, in fact.

I didn't intend on going too far out of my way to see this, but I entered a bunch of lotteries for this past Friday as I was coming into town for the weekend, and this was the only one I won. The seat was perfectly fine, house right towards the back of the orchestra in the middle of the row (put the ticket away already but want to say Row N or so). Ultimately glad I went as I've never seen either of the leading ladies on stage and their performances are very strong!
Spotted Wesley Taylor in the audience, as well as someone who looked a whole lot like Celia Keenan-Bolger. Perhaps more importantly for those enamored with the production, they were filming the show! There were no notices posted like when I was at Great Comet (presumably since at TGC audience members would definitely be caught on camera; not so much at a "traditional" show) but I would imagine it was for the Lincoln Center Archive.
So...pretty sure WAR PAINT is going to close 11/5. Went to Ticketmaster and no dates past that are on sale.
Counting the minutes until the announcement...
Ouch. I think you're right. The dates are still listed on Ticketmaster but you cannot purchase a ticket. Not shocking, but really disappointing.
It is saying "These ti kets went fast". That sucks. I was about to try for the last day of performances.
Patti’s surgery is the scapegoat. Wonder if it’s the truth...
What surgery is that? I missed that news.
She has to have a hip replaced.

This is absolutely true. The second time I saw War Paint she was clearly in pain. I didn't notice it until after intermission but it's true. Bless her heart for continuing on as she has doing INCREDIBLE work on stage at War Paint. One of my favorite shows I've seen in recent years

She mentioned the surgery at Deconstructing Patti, and it was painful and nerve-wracking watching her walk around in heels that she really should not have been wearing. (I did also notice the most recent time I saw War Paint that they have a cushion for her to sit on during the scenes at the St. Regis, which I'm sure helps some of the hip pain.)
I like how Patti's somehow sticking through another 3 full weeks in the role of Helena Rubenstein with a faulty hip. Casual.
(Seriously, though, wishing the best for her. That has to royally suck.)
Guess I def. need to get back to see this!
