Apparently I did need proof and now I'm regretting it, LOL.

Saw Jersey Boys for the first time tonight. JLY was on, and I thought he was really great. He sounded like he may have been having vocal problems at times... but it's understandably a very very difficult role to sing. Dominic Nolfi was on for Daniel Reichard and, although I have never seen the show before, I thought he was absolutely fantastic. He was by far my favorite. I loved his voice!

John did sound better this evening. Hopefully whatever problems he was having are on their way out the door.

Funny joke CPD, too bad JLY beat you to it:

(From his blog)

"Sunday, August 6, 2006

An apology to the fans at JERSEY BOYS, yesterday afternoon. I decided I needed to leave the show mid-act, because my falsetto was not working properly. The week prior, I had fought a sinus infection with antibiotics. Antibiotics kill beneficial bacteria in the system and so can cause candida (not the play by G.B. Shaw, not our neighbor to the north: look it up, it's gross), and so there was buildup on my vocal chords and my voice doctor now has me getting rid of that. Great news is that there is not physical damage to my voice, it's just... well, candida getting in the way. Blame Candida!"

"Worrell, if you're planning on seeing the show next month and want to see everyone, here's an FYI for you: Daniel Reichard will be on vacation from Jersey Boys through 9/11 & J. Robert Spencer will be on vacation 9/12 - 9/17."

thespian geek, thanks for the information but I knew that already(I'm friends with all 4 guys on myspace even though Christian and Bobby are obviously not them), I would be going after Bobby came back from vacation. It's funny that each of them is going off on a vacation one at a time. First, Christian was out from the 22nd to last Sunday, Daniel's out from the 29th to the 11th, and Bobby goes on vacation from the 12th to the 17th. So, hopefully when I rush it for my 5th time, everyone will be in.

My brother and sister-in-law saw the show last night and said JLY was fantastic. Hopefully he remains in good health as I am seeing the show on Sunday.

Here's my mini-review since its kind of off-topic for the thread. It was my third time seeing the show. Michael was on for Frankie, Dominic for Daniel, Heather for Sara and Matthew (taking over MIchael's parts)

It was my first time seeing Michael since I have seen JLY twice (March and end of May). Michael was absolutely incredible and knocked it out of the ballpark on Can't Take My Eyes Off of You. Dominic has such a gorgeous voice and was terrific. As usual the show was amazing... my new favorite song is Rag Doll.

After the show I met all of the guys again. Christian gave my mom a hug and a kiss which was so adorable. Michael and I got to chat for a bit too.
