Can we start already?

I'm especially shooked about the amount of LEAD ACTRESS IN A PLAY contenders that we already have:

Jean Smart, Call Me Izzy

Carrie Coon, Bug

Ayo Edebiri, Proof

June Squibb, Marjorie Prime

Laurie Metcalf, Little Bear Ridge Road

Lesley Manville, Oedipus

And we don't know who is playing Becky Shaw and possible contenders from PUNCH and LIBERATION.

I mean…i don’t understand implying there would be any contenders in Liberation aside from Susannah Flood. But I don’t really see her getting a nomination, even though she’s quite excellent.

I’d never bet on something like this, this early on but the Tony will go to Lesley Manville. I can’t even imagine a performance topping what she does in this play.

I saw Lesley Manville on Long Day's Journey into Night and she was marvelous, my pick for that Olivier in a insane line-up.

My God, this list of amazing actresses gives me goosebumps. Another incredible season of plays!

I thoroughly enjoyed it in London and look forward to seeing it again this fall.  I imagine Strong and Manville will both receive nominations.

It's more of a featured role. Renée Elise Goldsberry's role may be considered leading.

Best Leading Actress in a Musical - Carmen Cusack for Bull Durham is a home run, she’ll be unstoppable 

other contenders. Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Michelle, Solea Pfeiffer, Liisi Lafontaine, Cassie Levy wont be nominated, per usual.  I guess Evita and Dolly Parton aren’t coming in this season and hopefully never.  Benjamin Button leading lady?

EVITA will definitely coming to broadway.   If not this season, then next.   I wouldn't write it off.   Be wary of the stuff about "egos" and people "falling out" etc.
