Unless there ends up being a close race between two shows in the nominating process within 3 votes or less, there will only be three nominees.
Oh, my mistake! Hard to say which show I'd cut, then... hmm...
Hopefully, there will be a tie in the nominating process, so that they could expand the numbers. But why don't you have Denee Benton getting in?
Very true! And while I thought Benton was wonderful as Natasha and adore Comet, I'm not sure I see her performance as competitive enough for the others I've listed.
I also saw Sunset Boulevard this past week and would be deeply disappointed if Fred Johanson didn't get a Featured Actor in a Musical nomination.
Somebody wrote a rave for Cobie Smulders in the Present Laughter thread... is her role one that could score her a Featured Actress in a Play nomination?
Brandon Uranowitz is also a strong contender for Featured Actor for FALSETTOS. I'd wager he has more of a chance for a nomination than Rannells.

I adore Rannells but agree with this 100%. Brandon and Stephanie J Block were the real (and maybe unexpected/underestimated) standouts in Falsettos. She deserves a nom as well. As much as I love Christian Borle, too, I don't think this was a Tony performance for him. Eager to see him in Charlie.

Yeah, besides Stephanie J Block's rendition of "I'm Breaking Down", I felt that there wasn't a true stand-out performance. I absolutely LOVED the show, though-- the entire cast's dynamic, and their relationship developments, were outstanding. Some really, really good work. But for me, it's a case of the sum being greater than its parts.

The show will have been closed for a bit, but I'd love to see Michael Potts get a well-deserved nomination for Jitney. That whole cast is great, but he's a real standout.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I'm hoping that Jefferson Mays gets a supporting actor nomination from The Front Page - he was so excellent in it and has stuck out to me in the last few months.

Agree 100%

I also completely agree with this. I though Uranowitz was excellent and in complete command of the stage!

He'd be my number two pick to be nominated for Jitney, behind John Douglas Thompson. I loved his Becker, especially in the final scene of Act 1. He anchored that ensemble so beautifully, too.
