I really thought the way-too-early 2016 thread was one of the best ones of the year (lots of the nominations / wins spot on, some missed the mark). With that in mind, now that this year's awards are behind us, let us predict some way too early 2017 Tony nominations / wins!

Dear Evan Hansen will at the least get a few noms... Haven't seen anything else coming in. The Front Page looks good though.
Featured Actor Joined: 6/7/15
Best revival = Hello Dolly
Best Actress in Musical = Bette Midler - Hello Dolly
Best Actor in Musical = David Hyde Pierce - Hello Dolly
Best Supporting Actor in Musical = Gavin Creel - Hello Dolly
Best Supporting Actress in Musical = Kate Balwin - Hello Dolly
Best Choreography = Gower Champions - Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly = the old new Hamilton
Hopefully The Front Page will be great, but you can read the script now (which is excellent) or, even better, watch His Girl Friday, which is one of my favorite movies of all time.
If Ben Platt keeps up his performance, I'd be shocked if he didn't take home Best Actor.
If War Paint comes in next season there may be some competion for Bette Midler from Ebersole and Lupone. I'm sure that Stephanie J. Block won't be forgotten either.
I wonder if Christian Borle will be nominated for both Falsettos and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which i believe is coming next season.) Ben Platt seems to be the obvious frontrunner however. I'm sure that David Hyde Pierce and Josh Groban will provide some competition.
As for score, The Great Comet is an absolute masterpiece, but apparently the score to Dear Evan Hansen is pretty special. War Paint will probably snag a nomination as well as Come From Away.
I have no clue what will take Best Musical.
Unless it's a brand new show , nothing best actor worthy in Charlie
Best Musical - The Bandstand
Best Actress - Laura Osnes
Best Actor - Corey Cott

Gypsy, I seem to recall talking to you about this in another thread... I find it funny that you went ahead and made the thread.

I did! I mentioned loving this thread last year, and since it lasted us a good 11 months or so, why not have another!
I'm gonna focus on musicals, using a list of shows either announced with a theater, announced with no theater or shows currently rumored or likely to come in. Some of the big nominees I think may be:
BEST MUSICAL:
Natasha Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812
Dear Evan Hansen
War Paint
Anastasia
Groundhog Day
BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL:
Falsettos
Hello, Dolly!
Miss Saigon
BEST ACTOR IN A MUSICAL:
Christian Borle -- Falsettos
David Hyde Pierce -- Hello, Dolly!
Benjamin Platt -- Dear Evan Hansen
Josh Groban -- The Great Comet
Andy Karl -- Grounghog Day
BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL:
Bette Midler -- Hello, Dolly!
Patti LuPone -- War Paint
Christine Ebersole -- War Paint
Eva Noblezada -- Miss Saigon
Denee Benton -- The Great Comet
FEATURED ACTOR:
Lucas Steele -- The Great Comet
Andrew Rannells -- Falsettos
Gavin Creel -- Hello, Dolly!
Gavin Lee -- The Spongebob Musical
Jon-Jon Briones -- Miss Saigon
FEATURED ACTRESS:
Rachel Bay Jones -- Dear Evan Hansen
Jennifer Laura Thompson -- Dear Evan Hansen
Amber Gray -- The Great Comet
Kate Baldwin -- Hello, Dolly!
Brittain Ashford -- The Great Comet
BEST SCORE:
Dave Malloy -- Natasha
Benj Pasek & Justin Paul -- Dear Evan Hansen
Scott Frankel & Michael Korie -- War Paint
Alan Menken -- A Bronx Tale
Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens -- Anastasia
Best Revival: Miss Saigon. Tony owes MS a "best" award. Can't believe the voters gave it to Will Rodgers Follies...
Best New Musical: Dear Evan Hansen, unless something eles pops up and completely blows people away.

The Engineer is ruled as a leading character, at least in 1991's Tony.

Reidel seems to be all over SpongeBob

I recalled that, but to me he seems more featured...he was nominated in Leading because Jonathan Pryce was credited above the title (although this could happen in the revival too I suppose)
It's absolutely a leading character in this new production
OKAY. we'll see how the billing / petitioning goes. these are, after wall, WAY too early predictions.
I wonder if James Corden will host again.

They should sign him long term, asap.
Corden was great.

Gypsy, you don't think Singin' In the Rain will capture anything? I haven't heard much about it, but have to think it might be a contender?
Did I miss something - is Gavin Creel and Kate Baldwin confirmed for Hello Dolly?

My predictions:
Best Musical: Dear Evan Hansen
Best Leading Actress: Bette Midler, Hello, Dolly!
Best Leading Actor: Ben Platt, Dear Evan Hansen
Best Featured Actress: Rachel Bay Jones, Dear Evan Hansen
Best Featured Actor: Lucas Steele, Natasha...
Best Score: Dave Malloy, Natasha...
Best Book: Steven Levenson, Dear Evan Hansen
Chorus Member Joined: 6/13/16
Best Musical: Dear Evan Hansen
Best Leading Actor: Ben Platt
Best Leading Actress: Laura Dreyfuss
Best Featured Actor: Michael Park
Beat Featured Actress: Rachel Bay Jones
These are my guesses at least for noms. The only ones I will bet on winning are Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones
You're all forgetting Come From Away which will be a big contender in the musical division. And hopefully The Play That Goes Wrong will make it to Broadway too (sort of announced last year for a 2016 bow) that could pick up Best Play.

This is confusing, even for a speculation thread, because we don't even have a final list of the shows guaranteed to come to Broadway next season.
