Yes. Congrats to Phantom! I love it so much. And, welcome back!
And I watched that Kertertainment (sp) and if you listen, the people screaming in the background is from directly behind the wall and across the street and I'm one of them! (The 2nd one, the loud one was probably for Adam.) It was very entertaining clip thing.

I tried to watch it, but it was extremely obnoxious. I'll have to go to a friend's house, cause my internet is retarted. I ended up watching him dancing or whatever (wtf? btw) and Bea Arthur about a milion times. And just that took forever. Ugh.

I'm so happy that Phantom is number one... a musical I've seen live! Woo! (And if you know my list of things I've seen, that's impressive. )
I couldn't finish that video... I just couldn't make myself. A man dancing around in -- was that a leotard? -- Wow, funny as that is, it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'll try watching again later.
Oh, and randomly... Adam Rapp's play is coming to NY. (Anthony's brother is a playwright... if you were unaware.) Yay!

That dancing scared me. I paused it and waited for the entire thing to load and then fast fowardedededed.
And, yay for the play!
And I prefer the stage POTO. Not to say I didn't enjoy the movie. It was colorful...the swordfight I laugh at, but, I also laughed when in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, he (the Lion, I forgot how to spell his name) knights someone. I mean, it's a lion. But I really enjoyed that movie.
//randomness.

Are you talking about Red Light Winter? That was in Chicago. I tried to go see it but never found the time. I heard it was really good though. I guess it must be if it's going to New York.

Yep, that's the one. Try looking at the link I provided OR... it's on the right side of the screen in "BWW Articles" as well. Lots of extra info on Adam's play in the article.
I am officially not a fan of Phantom... I just bombed that quiz, heh. I saw the movie once, and the stage show once in '98. I sort of forgot everything. Shame!

I've never seen Phantom, but I just got into broadway stuff a little over a year ago even though I've loved theatre forever. With no other theatre junkies in my family, I had to discover it all on my own. Ah well, such is life. I'm addicted to it now!
snaps for the whole Rapp family cause they rock. And live 20 minutes away from me. lol.

I liked the movie more than the show. I spaced out a lot during it. However, vocally the Phantom I saw live was 100 times better than Gerard Butler and Michael Crawford just sounds funny. I see The Lion King being on Broadway just as long if not longer.

Congrats Phantom of the Opera! In honor of the show's special day, I wore my Phantom shirt to school. I didn't see anyone else wearing it, though.
When I saw Phantom back in November (Howard McGillin and Sandra Joseph), I was blown away by Howard. He had this incredible, powerful voice that left me in awe. Sandra Joseph...ugh, I did not like her at all. She couldn't act for her life. But the Phantom was just...gah, I can't think of words to describe him!

Ahhhhh, Phantom... yes, I was also a Phan before I was a Renthead... *ducks* But really, I adore Phantom. It's such an incredibly passionate and beautiful show. But I was turned on to Phantom through the movie. *ducks some more* Here's what I think about the PotO movie:
I'll try and keep this short not to take up thread space. Did I think it was a good movie? Good isn't a good enough word. I adored it. I saw it 7 times in theaters (no joke, I really did). It was my entire life for a good 4-5 months. Shortly after, I sang Christine's part in "Angel of Music" in my first ever major school solo. It was an ornate, beautiful movie. Gorgeous in every aspect.
Did I think it was a good representation of the show? HOLYCRAPABSOLUTELYNOTNEVERINAMILLIONYEARSNO. No, no, a million times no. The movie has nothing on the show, except I did think that Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson (*fangirl*), Miranda Richardson and Minne Driver were very good in their respective roles. In the end, no movie will ever compare to a live theatre experience. And that pretty much sums it up. Updated On: 1/9/06 at 04:18 PM
retarded question so i apologize in advance for not knowing by now---- where & when is the book signing for Anthony Rapp in New York? I know its on the 21st but I need the address of the place and the time for the person who is taking me, and I'm not sure if theres a site that lists it or whatever..could someone please help?.
I saw the movie six times. Then I bought it, but by then I had seen it in theaters so many times, I didn't want to watch it again. I didn't want that to happen with Rent, so I limited myself to four times in theaters. Even then, I was kind of spacing out during Santa Fe. Phantom of the Opera is amazing, though. The sword fighting scene in the movie is a bit cheesy, but the rest of it is beautiful. Especially "Masquerade."

omg my friend is soo smart she just figured out that maureen in rent (idina) is in wicked also wow she needs updates...sorry thought it was funny enough to share
I feel so ashamed, I have never seen the PotO in theatres or on the show. And, I must say, when I was little and my mom showed me the cover of the PotO soundtrack, I was actually scared of it.
Remember that PBS kids' show, Wishbone, from the '90s? They told classic literature stories with the little Jack Russell terrier... they did Romeo & Juliet, Odyssey, PotO, and a ton of other stuff. I used to love that show, I think I still have a couple episodes on VHS in my toy closet from when I was little... man, do I need to clean that thing out.
