This is specifically about Cameron Mackintosh's 4 shows, not the West End in general. They have made the active decision to keep those shows closed until 2021, even if the West End opens sooner.

And not even all Cameron Mackintosh's shows, just Les Miz, Phantom, Mary Poppins and Hamilton.

Those are all his own shows.
He has more theatres (like the Novello), but he doens't (fully) produce these shows (like Mamma Mia!)

Let's face it...BWAY will not resume till then either...so, hang in there everybody at least another 8-10 months or so before it's back!

With some states seeing an uptick after re-opening, that's probably a best case scenario!

Reported today in Australia that volunteers are required to trial new vaccine from University of Queensland for COVID-19.
2000 this weekend allowed at football[don't know anything yet re seating etc] and hopefully 10,000 in July[Queensland only]. Of course it would be first with sport but at least theatres will learn from these large gatherings.
It's a welcome start.
