Why?
Broadway got hit by a car and died.
It got hit by a minivan.
At least it will be reunited with Kyle in heaven.
And Jonathan Larson.
There's a sock on their doorknob in heaven.
Broadway died when Jan Maxwell got hit by a minivan.
I hope the company that picked up All My Children renews SMASH and casts Joey Arias as Eileen.
And Joey Lawrence as Tom and Melissa Joan Hart as Ivy.
On the plus side, I learned that even if I never play Broadway, there's still a chance that someone will have the lights dimmed for me when I die; at least at one theater.

Only if you cheat on your boyfriend with the writer/director of the show, and convince him to restructure a song after the opening.
Good to know...
Patti LuPone complained about Times Square and how it doesn't focus on the theatre anymore. Which really upsets me.
And God knows, Patti was around when it did.
Someone should get a Kickstarter going for Broadway before it's too late.
"So, there won't be a Rand Theatre, where the proscenium is modeled after Eileen's 2000's hipster bangs? "
Oh, don't worry. The iconic drama/comedy logo is fashioned after her face.
All this talk about Broadway, Jonathan Larson and the Darkest Timeline has made me think that the mythical Community Season 5 should involve Greendale staging RENT:
Joel McHale as Jeff Winger as Roger
Danny Pudi as Abed Nadir as Mark
Alison Brie as Annie Edison as Mimi
Gillian Jacobs as Britta Perry as Maureen
Yvette Nicole Brown as Shirley Bennett as Joanne
Donald Glover as Troy Barnes as Collins
Jim Rash as Dean Pelton as Angel
Ken Jeong as Chang/KEVIN as Benny
Chevy Chase as Pierce Hawthorne as Squeegee Man
COMMUNITY's season 5 isn't mythical! It was renewed yesterday!!!
Renewed, yes, but it'll air on October 19... whenever that is.
I think that's sometime in October.

You guys, I know it's overly optimistic. But I really think if Broadway can hang on til the Tonys it really has a chance.

Here is what the Huffington Post had to say about theater stars on TV and how they have fared this year.

From now on, whenever there's a golf game, Sunday matinees won't start until it's over, "already in progress."
