As The Music Man is going ahead with Sutton Foster and Kelli has stated that she does not want to do a revival next what do you think should be the next project that she should work on?  From what I want to say now the only things she's got lined up after Kiss Me Kate are a concert at the NYP singing Knoxville: Summer Of 1915(an amazingly beautiful operatic piece) and some concert work in London but I'd love to see I haven't seen The Accidental Wolf but I think it would be good for Kelli's career if it would still be going. I know that she is starring in a Netflix adaptation of some YA novel similar to Thirteen Reasons Why but I hope she can get something better then that in film or television. What about a film version of The Bridges Of Madison County? This would be the perfect opportunity for Kelli to revisit the role and yes the show being a flop doesn't bode well for it's chances of becoming a film but with the right director and screenwriter can the material translate better to a film musical then it was a stage musical? Or The Light In The Piazza being turned into a film with Kelli as Margaret? I'd love to see her do a new album too as it has been eight years since she has done one. Some more opera work would also be terrific. What do you think?

Isn't she doing The King and I in Japan next summer?

Yes, according to the Japan Times:

Finally, it has been announced that the 2015 Tony award-winning musical “The King and I” will run at Tokyu Theatre Orb in summer with its original U.S. cast — including Ken Watanabe as the King of Siam and Kelli O’Hara as Anna Leonowens, tutor to the king and his children, and playing the titular “I.”

Inevitably, the star’s return home will be a massive media event that will hopefully encourage new audiences to witness Japanese entertainment history and experience the magic of the stage.

I would think that she would be tired of the role by now. But with a limited run and a chance to spend some time in Japan with her family, I guess it's enticing. Did you ever wonder how her husband feels about all her success?

The tour is supposed to continue making world stops including Russia. It's also doing a UK tour. And the US tour is supposed to be doing very well.

But I don't think that Kelli is involved with the role after Japan.

She has the concert dates in London in November.

And she shows definite interest in films and TV, bot not in boring medical or legal roles. She speaks with enthusiasm about The Accidental Wolf and what she has learned. From recent Newsday interview:

The soprano made a sharp dramatic turn starring in “13 Reasons Why,” and “The Accidental Wolf,” a thriller web series that earned her an Emmy nomination.

You’ve had success lately with non-stage work. Like “Accidental Wolf.” You played a housewife caught in a military cover-up. Will there be a season two?

Yes, I just watched a screening. It’s done. This was a labor of love. An experiment that ended up with an Emmy nomination. Very unexpected. Because it’s a web series, there’s no timeline — [creator] Arian Moayed can release it whenever he wants. I learned a huge amount the first season. I learned how to do something meaty [in front of the camera], as opposed to “Oh, take three of these and call me in the morning.”

You mean the typical one-liner roles actors get on, say, “Law & Order: SVU?”

Those are the things theater people often do on TV and it makes us feel like never going there again. When you’re in love with the punishment of theater — that gorgeous feeling of ripping yourself open every single day — TV can seem like a snooze factory. Till you do something like “Accidental Wolf.”

Take that, Audra, for your boring role in a pedestrian medical series.

I'd love for Kelli to do more staged opera. She had successes in both The Merry Widow and Cosi fan tutte.

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe no one remembered to interview her husband to see how he feels about the fact that his wife is more successful than he is!

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Thank you. I needed that early morning wake-up shot.

And I'm sure no one is interested in the least. Yet they keep remaking A Star is Born.

Is this a joke? Who cares what her husband thinks about anything? If you’re really that concerned I’m sure they discuses and agree on her career decision together.

Reality check: Neither of those would EVER happen, especially not with O'Hara in the leading roles.

Hope she does a new musical with an original score. She had been attached to Superhero for a while, but she dodged a bullet by leaving the project.

If it has to be revival how about I DO I DO  with Hugh Jackman when he's finished with Music Man  or what Mary Martin had done also  JENNY.

Perfect next role for Kelli: Stella in Streetcar Named Desire. Barefoot and pregnant, as apparently you imagine her husband wants her to be.

Try as I might, I can't connect this to anything I wrote. I lack the imagination.

I try to keep up with everything that is Politically Incorrect, but there's just so much.

Politically incorrect means that you are making a true statement, that lots of people would want to know how Kelli's husband handles her success, but it's forbidden to say it.

I bet if he were on Oprah and she asked him that question, everybody would be fine with it.

But I'm always happy to give at least a few people here that delicious feeling of outrage.

That's all. Nothing more to see here. Move on.

How about it's none of your business what Kelli's husband thinks of her career? Considering they've been married for over 12 years and have 2 kids together you could make the inference that he's happy to have such a talented wife.

Then again you're te same person who bitched nonstop that Lilli wasn't spanked in Kiss Me Kate.

Are you serious? Kelli is doing The King And I in Japan? Seriously enough already- she was in the role for a whole year, won a Tony, played it in London, had a taped performance of that get broadcast on the big screen. It's great for Ken and hey if she's all for it that's fine but it's disappointing.

If you were writing an original show what would have in mind for a role?

I think it's amazing that she is doing the show in Japan. I wonder how much of that had to do with Ken Watanabe as well. When I saw the show back in the summer of 2015, Ken Watanabe looked like he has having the time of his life during curtain call. I think he loved being given this opportunity and being able to play this role in this production.

No good riddance. I'm not going anywhere. I've been here seven years longer than you and I try not to offend anyone, but you just have an amazing amount of anger built up in you.

None of my business? Prying into the lives of celebrities is a major industry in this country! Have you not heard of Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Insider.

And those gossip rags at supermarket checkout counters.

You know, I was just watching this old film for the 14th time and I was astonished when I saw the famous opening scene with my new sensitivity.

It's good he didn't sock her with his fist, but Dexter shoved her back off her feet. Tracy could have broken her neck!

I think that we should petition the Library of Congress to have this film removed from the National Film Registry.

Allegedly the MET is trying to find the right role for her to be a lead in an opera since her other two glorious showings were as funny supporting parts.

I so hope this is true! We need Ms. O'Hara originating more roles!
