I honestly really want to see Patti in a play.

If we're talking about role reversals, I'd say Big River.
Laura as Huck and Patti as Jim. Unless "The River" is a better role for Miss LuPone.
How about Patti and Laura as the brothers in The Pillowman? Patti could really sink her teeth into Michal.

She could sink her teeth into a ham sandwich too. Doesn't mean she should star in a musical about it...
You mean the Mama Cass musical?
If we're doing out of left field ideas: The Glass Menagerie. Doesn't need to be staged, it can just be a reading in my living room.
Human Centipede: The Musical.
Um NO. That is just disgusting.
I honestly really want to see Patti in a play.
A friend and I were just discussing this. We'd both like to see Patti get a really great supporting role in a play.
I personally would also love to see a revival of The Visit, and think Patti could be a great Claire.
And I kind of hope they don't do anything together for a while. There's already a sect of their fans who think they're lovers, and I don't think they need any more fodder for their delusions.
How about a production of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patikin as Martha and George; and Laura Benanti and Cheyenne Jackson as Honey and Nick?
Martha - Patti LuPone
George - Nathan Lane
Honey - Laura Benanti
Nick - Matthew Broderick
I would seriously, unironically pay admission to see every show proposed in this thread
I don't know if Broderick's old enough to play Nick.
Every time I watch the movie Doubt I want to put it on stage with Patti and Laura.
I didn't know they were lovers, they could do THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE, at George St. Playhouse.

Patti would probably be an amazing Violet in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY.

That would be BRILLIANT casting, ljay.
2 Girls, 1 Cup
Passion
Or when the DC Follies moves to Broadway next year they can be replacements as Carlotta and Young Carlotta...
Benanti would make a better Young Phyllis, I think.
And they were actually supposed to be in the Lincoln Center concert of Passion together. Benanti was originally supposed to be the Mistress, but was replaced by Kate Baldwin.
A musical version of The Children's Hour!
