BudFrump,
An interesting note on the Mamma Mia!logo -- the girl that modeled for it actually was one of the girls in the ensemble of the original London cast. Her name escapes me though.
I enjoy the Hairspray logo, and the Rent one, and the Les Mis one, and the Phantom one...... too many to list.
I don't particularly like the current GYPSY logo.
I loved the PETER PAN logo with Cathy Rigby flying through the text.
I also loved the SEUSSICAL one. It's just "fun."
The best is AIDA IMO. It is a great contrast.
Yeah- I love Seussical, too! I wish I could have seen it.

Some of my favorites are the original "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" and "Nine," as well as "Dear World," "A Chorus Line," "110 in The Shade," and "Flower Drum Song."
I've always hated the "Marry Me A Little" artwork, as well as the recent "Anything Goes" revival, "Ballroom," and "Catch Me If You Can." I'm also not fond of a lot of the Encores posters.
Major bump, Nowak... almost 10 years since the last post.

Wicked and Hairspray are the first two that come to mind.
Will have to go back and remind myself of some others........
Heathen! The full poster is pretty cool, but I love the type shown here in this Playbill cover.
My least favorite is AIDA. The work just seems generic.

The original FOLLIES poster is pretty much perfection as best show artwork... but is that a "logo"?
In recent years, i loved CATCH ME IF YOU CAN: simple, graphic, bright, captured all you need to know about the show (which i love)
And i love the image for the new CINDERELLA also, though i wish it was a little less subtle - i didn't see the girl for ages.
WONDERLAND had a cool poster, but i don't think it helped the show...(never saw it)
Hated: A CATERED AFFAIR - i swear, that poster kept me away from the show - it felt like it was for something else entirely (i really liked the show once i saw it)
Every poster for Lincoln Center Theatre, all those wiggly line drawings, apparently i am in the minority here because they keep using them, but... ugh.
I really like the original INTO THE WOODS and the current revival of PIPPIN. And I do find the WICKED logo quite interesting. One thing that I noticed is that if you look closely into Glinda's eye there is a hint of green. I could be reading into this a little too much, but I feel like that hints at the fact that Glinda is not the goody-two-shoes you always thought she was.
All That Jazz- Thank you for posting that, I forgot to mention that one. I love how the pupils in the cat's eyes are actual dancing cats.

Just about everything designed by Frank Verlizzo ("Fraver").

You're welcome Ginger! That's one of my favorites parts as well.
One that I can't stand is the Bernadette FOLLIES. It's just ugly IMO.
Next to Normal: with the "One family is about to face the music" tag line was so cheesy yet with the logo/marquee art it made perfect sense!!
Ragtime revival: i like it much better than the original artwork
Cinderella: love the gown in the slipper!!
Whoever said they hated the original LITTLE SHOP logo 10 years ago must not have much taste. I wish Byrd would still design show logos.
For me, Hal Prince was the producer with the best taste in logos and artwork. David Merrick was the worst.
I thought about this last night...THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES has to have the most BORING looking Playbill this season. Why not use the photographic logo with Judith Light, Jessica Hecht, and cast like the poster?

I like the Cinderella logo... i was like.. hey it's cinderella! haha
i also think the Kinky Boots logo is ugly!
@ jv92: the poster was referring to the LITTLE SHOP logo from the Broadway REVIVAL.
