I actually don't often see shows I outright hate, but the two Broadway-quality productions I didn't care for are:
2. Jersey Boys
1. A Chorus Line *ducks for cover*
Jersey Boys was fun and had great performances from all four guys (1st National Tour w/ Rick Faugno as Frankie), but the plot just kind of plodded along from song to song. I know the plot is the real story, I just felt like it could have been carried out better. As for A Chorus Line...I wanted to like it, and I like 4 of the songs, but I couldn't connect with any characters and I was bored for most of it. It's just not for me.
i know it wasnt praised but Mary Poppins, i was bored beyond all extents.
and
Lion King.
Lion King
In The Heights
Fantasticks (the worst show I have ever seen, in my opinion)

"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu

I did not care for the most recent revival of "42nd Street".
I also was very bored with the "Show Boat" revival the ran in the mid 1990's. I can't think of a third.
I think it's odd that two posters said "Cry-Baby". Isn't the thread about shows that most people "seemed to praise" and you did not like. Uhm......it would still be playing if more people had liked it.
you hated RENT but you're a big SPRING AWAKENING fan??
I just don't get it....
they're both overrated mediocre snores. and extremely similar (attempting to be "edgy" or revolutionary. blah blah blah)

Phantom - just didn't impress me
Mary Poppins - some parts were good, but I felt like it dragged a lot, and I know it's a kid-oriented show, but the constant chatter and crying from the young audience members didn't help at all
Spring Awakening - I really like the music, so I went in expecting to love it, but it just didn't do it for me
Young Frankenstein - one of the most boring shows I've ever seen
Passing Strange - worst show I have ever seen
Spring Awakening - I haven't walked down 49th street since November 2006
Spelling Bee - saw it once in previews and never again

Spring Awakening - I wanted to love this so much. I love the music immensely...but I was so freaking disappointed with this show. the only good things about it are the music & the lighting.
anything Andrew Lloyd Webber - sorry. can't stand him. the British Invasion can suck it.
Ditto on ALW....except for the show that very few people liked: Aspects of Love
I find him redundant and repetitive.

Now, these are the three worst shows I've seen (well, I do put [tos] on that list) but these are the worst I've seen that everyone else seemed to love.

Beauty and the Beast- I was only 8 when I saw this but it was very boring at the time
Wonderful Town- snoooooooooze
Xanadu- *Covers ears* Really hated this one
I wouldn't say the worst, but everyone seems to be excited about White Christmas, which I found a bit old-fashioned (amazing set though).
