I agree on Mamma Mia- I never understood the fascination. . .I never really understood it with Phantom either. . .beyond the beautiful sets, it didn't do much for me, at all. . .

With "Wicked," I guess, I just don't "get it." First time I saw it was right after it first opened. Kristen C was out the day that I saw it, and her stand by, Laura BB, went on for her, and she was wonderful. But, in all fairness, I saw "The Boy From Oz" the day before and was still in a state of awe from Hugh Jackman's performance. So, I could have seen anything, and I would still be thinking about Hugh.
Then I saw it again a year later in "Chicago," to give it a 2nd look. Still didn't care for it.
So, I gave it a 3rd try last year. Stephanie Block was brilliant. But, the show itself.....just don't care for it.

Going to hazard a guess and say 'Wicked' and 'Rent' are going to crop up a lot in peoples lists, deserved or not.
I never really warmed to Starlight Express, Blood Brothers or anything Gilbert + Sullivan.
Wouldn't say they're the worst shows at all though, just not really for me.

Adding Machine
Wicked
Personally, I thought ADDING MACHINE was a mess. I thought the book was poorly constructed, I thought the issues it was trying to explore never really took centerstage, and I thought the music was great- but wasn't motivated and not logical in the context of the plot. I personally thought it was a sloppy musical with a terrible book.
And as for WICKED- it just didn't seem like that much fun when I saw it. It just never turned into what I thought it would. Also- I hated the opening number, and it set a bad tone for the rest of the show (which probably wasn't quite as bad as that terrible opening sequence.)
