Saw it at Atlantic Theater Company and adored it. Thought it was ready for Broadway but haven't heard a peep about it since the brief London run. What happened?
I was talking about this a couple months ago with a friend of mine. I loved it at ATC and also thought it was ready for Broadway.
Same. Gorgeous score. And everyone I know loved it. Not sure how the London run was received.

Agreed! I’m surprised it didn’t have a life after ATC, in NYC.
Not enough buzz.

👏👏👏👏
I thought it was pretty mediocre at the Atlantic, but mediocrity seldom prevents things from transferring to Broadway. Sometimes these things just don't happen for any number of very mundane reasons- a lack of backing, wrong timing, etc. This just never really had strong momentum behind it, then COVID happened and a lot of people moved on.

I adored the show, it would've been perfect for Booth or Circle
It's interesting that they parted ways with the director (Sam Gold out, Whitney White in) for the London run.
I believe there was also a change in lead producer, because Margot Lion who was shepherding it for years died in early 2020.
Sonia Friedman produced in the UK last year at the Almeida https://almeida.co.uk/whats-on/the-secret-life-of-bees/ not sure how it was received and if a Broadway future is possible?
