"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
What about Showgirls? I mean the main character's name is Nomi Malone.
I mean all that symoblism...Nomi Malone...Know Me, I'm Alone...
"I've got to get me out of here
This place is full of dirty old men
And the navigators and their mappy maps
And moldy heads and pissing on sugar cubes
While you stare at your books."
I'd love to see a Japanese-style horror film, like the Ring, put on stage. Could either be horrible or intense. I second Mean Girls, too. That would be awesome.

Moulin Rouge. Screams for Broadway. Why hasn't this happened yet?
Because the source material was awful. Yeah, I know it hasn't stopped many other things from being produced, but still.

"Oh, and Reservoir Dogs could easily be adapted to reduce the flashbacks, and the ones that are still there are just held in the same warehouse, Joe's initial interviews, and going over the crime/assigning names. The only ones that would have to be cut are Mr. Orange's backstory, and the getaway. The initial diner scene could be done in front of the curtain, or with the rest of the set unlit. "
This has already been adapted to the stage at the Roadhouse Theatre in Erie, PA...and staged 4 times since 1997. Check out www.roadhousetheatre.org for info on it. It's actually a really good adaptation!
I personally would like to see American Beauty on stage!

Rosemary's Baby would probably be pretty effective as a play since a lot of it takes place inside an apartment building.

Misery has been a play, was in west end(i think) and definately toured at least twice a few years ago in uk. Julie T Wallace and Sharon Gless both had turns playing Annie Wilkes. never got to see it unfortunately
Isn't Days of Wine and Roses a play? It's interesting to me that that's never been staged on or off Broadway (that I know of).
